Went to george Whites in Bolton on Saturday. They have quite a lot of good deals on clothing, specially if you are looking for leathers of helmets. I quite fancied the Magic Roundabout lid but the wife said it would look daft at my age. You can't tell my age with it on!!Anyway she got a smart Frank Thomas jacket and I got a pair of Kevlar strengthened jeans. Well worth a look if you are local. Oh and try the sausages on a barm cake from the butty bar outside, really tasty. For those of you in Yorkshire a barm cake is similar to a muffin or softee as opposed to a teacake which has currants so there. :)
Is barm cake even a proper word, sounds like summat they've just made up over the border!! ;)
I had heard george white opened up in bolton, is it only clothes and accessoires, are they planning on selling bikes?
I have the same discussion wherever I go, specially in God's country. In a cafe in Bradford a few weeks ago the topic of bacon butties and barm cakes came up and I spent half an hour educating the poor souls that a teacake has currants, and what they referred to as a teacake is in fact a barm cake of oven bottom barm cake. In Glasgow recently it was referred to as a softee, and in Cumbria they tried to tell me it was a bap. Well I am a simple Lancashire lad and only like my bacon on bread or barm cakes.

George White in Bolton onlt seem to stock clothing and accessories, but they do hav a couple of Kawasakis on display in the windows. There does not appear to be any workshop, sales or service facilities, but then again I have not asked. However I doubt if they would be allowed to sell Kawasakis in Bolton as Bolton Kawasaki was only signed off as a dealer a few weeks ago. Bolton Kawasaki are part of the MotoGB group who also own, Millenium Motorcycles in St Helens, , Preston Superbikes and others.
I went to the George White in Swindon earlier this year just for a look round. It's an enormous place with the largest clothing warehouse I have ever seen, plus a large area of "sale" clothing, and 2 large showrooms. Well worth a ride down to see. M6, M5, A419.

I bought my gtr1400 from them, orderd it from gt motorcyles in plymouth where I bought my zzr1400 from in 2008, only to be told george white as took over gt motorcyles. at least it was not as far for me to collect :) I never went over to the clothes department adjacent to the showroom, in case I spent more money ;)
