Well I recently bought a pair of Rukka Atlas gloves on the strength of Rusty's recommendations. I've only used them once, (today) but I have to say that as for first impressions they are bloody excellent. Average weather on the way to work but when I finished work there was a definate nip in the air as I rode home and my hands were lovely and snug. Definately worth the outlay.
At last ::) ::) ..... someone has taken the plunge ;D Well done Mr Wolf I am glad to hear the good news ... what you really need to appreciate them is a really nasty spell of heavy rain ... that's the true test ! Keep us all updated.
What is it with you and weather forecasts?? >:(
I left work this evening at about 7pm to head over to the RoSPA meet and it was fine, then it started p**sing down once I was on the motorway, it was like Wales all over again. ;D
Good news was though that my hands were not only dry but still warm. I'm suitably impressed with them.
Good ;D ;D
I need a decent pair of winter gloves - I am getting pretty fed up with the bar muffs I currently use - its reaqlly hard to use the indicator/horn with them on
Which Rukka gloves have you got? I was thinking of the Argosaurus ones....

I went for the Rukka Atlas.
Bought a pair of alpinestars goretex gloves from HG in bristol. Cost me £120. Got caught in a serioudsy big downpour on the m4 heading home to bristol yesterday. Everything was soaked apart from my feet (Daytona goretex boots) and my hands. Theyre good. . . . Loverly fleece inside too.
I certainly dont regret buying my HG goretex suit recently, especially as the wife paid for it! 8)
Hmmm thats my next purchase . I did see some goretex leather trousers and goretex leather jacket which i thought were fab and they offered my the two for £600.
not sure i can get my head around letting leather get soaked, anyone got anthing like this?
No ... sounds strange .. soaking leather with Gortex ... I,m not sure the 2 go together :-\
Yep know what you mean. They give a 3 yr warranty as well.
I suspect they would take a bit of looking after to keep them supple
If you mean the HG leather goretex trousers and jacket dont be put off by the fact they are leather. A guy who works in the same nick as me and who has a ZZR recently bought the HG leather goretex outfit. He swears by it. Pricewise it was about £900 but its possibly the same one you've looked at because they are always having sales at HG.
He uses it daily, he says it is warm and more importantly it is totally waterproof. He does lots of riding and European trips which he has completed with his HG outfit and has had no issues whatsoever.
The outfit I have from HG is to the same spec but it is textile goretex with leather on the impact points as opposed to being all leather as his is.
Yep same stuff was over a grand when first came out. Think ill go gor it
