Anything to report Mr Wolf? nod nod wink wink. ::)
Well I woke up this morning at about seven after getting in from work about 3am. Took the dogs out, fed them when I got home, fed myself, fed the fish, put the bins out, had a bit of a tidy up in the house & then fell asleep on the sofa until my wfe came home at lunchtime. I could give you a run down on the afternoon's event's but it was about as interesting as the morning's apart from the fact that I had a wee trip to Hein Gericke at Leeds before coming home again and getting the dogs sorted out. Hard work are our Springer's!
Were you expecting something else? ;)
Stop messing us about Mr Wolf ... how much for the Part Ex and when are you picking up the new bike ? ;D ;D

Nah not really, but I believe it was rather pleasant in Rochdale this afternoon have you seen the town hall there ? fantastic building lots of history and a credit to the town, and I was wondering if you have visited the new shopping centre, ultra modern and very flash. After your good lady came home from work could you not have asked if she would like the afternoon in Rochdale you know a bit of shopping ,buy a few dog chews, spot of lunch maybe or a swift half in one of Rochdales many modern public houses, or just to meander about for an hour or so soaking up the last few rays of sunshine before winter sets in. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh also in Rochdale there is a motorcycle shop with the name" Robinsons "and do you know they have a bike with your name on it, just thought i would mention that. Have a pleasant evening. from your friend Geoff ;) ;D
Isn't Rochdale famous for riots and EDL protests? I can do without that ;)
I took my life in my hands this afternoon and rode over to Rochdale. Didn't get mugged or anything and now back home safely. I had a look around this bike shop http://www.robinsonsrochdale.co.uk/ (http://www.robinsonsrochdale.co.uk/) to see what might be offered on mine against a 2010 model. Overall very disappointing.....didn't see any of the models who are on their web site, and yes I did look. ;)
The magnesium model which was on their web site at £9600 approx was actually £8995 in the showroom. They have now changed their web site price to match after I thought it prudent to mention this. The negative aspect of this is that should someone have purchased purely by viewing the web site and entering into a contract prior to collection they could have been stung for an unnecessary extra £600. :(
The 2010 bike was not in excellent condition as they advertised unless you consider that a gouged n/s pannier on the lid and body from what looks like scraping it down a wall is a desirable touch. Other than that it looked alright but not what I would describe as being in excellent condition, more like good condition for its mileage.
Then came the really bad news, the part x price. Now I know a big dealer like this has overheads and they want to turn a decent profit but it angers me when sales people look at a book to determine a valuation as opposed to what their eyes are telling them. I like to keep the GTR looking tidy and yes it's four years old so it's never going to be mint again but it was in better condition for its age than the 2010 model I'm afraid. £5.5k doesn't cut it with me as a part x price which is all I was offered. Apparantly that's the book price, so that's the offer price.
So the outcome was....

That is very funny .... I mean the video ... oh yes ... and your part ex ;D
£5.5 K for a 4 year old bike is not a lot is it ? and that's not against an amazing almost new condition, low mileage Lord Rusty kept looking bike is it ?
BUT one supposes that he would put yours on the floor for 7K ? something like that, but it's not right is it ? The summer market has now gone, and with Xmas around the corner and a double dip recession here for a while it looks like the part ex offer on any bike will be looking grim :(
Rusty, yes its a bleak outcome. I look at my bike and I see a bike which is worth more than £5.5k so at least thats clarified the situation for me. She's here to stay. ;D
It's the end of this thread then :'( I'm gutted :(
Oh God !! What have I done ??? :'( :'(

Not necessarily ;D
They rang me today did Robinson's trying to see if they could do anything for me on this GTR.
Computer still says......NO ;D
Ah !!!!! so we can spark the thread back up again then!!!!!!! oh goody. ;D
Yes, its not over yet. I think it's time to start seriously considering looking for a replacement. Although I'm not going to rush into anything. I had a good look at this magnesium GTR and I'm still convinced that this is the colour which I would steer towards. They had a new green GTR in their showroom which also looked ok.
I did like the style of the 2010 model, although the differences are relatively subtle.
Funny how colours change after a while .... when I first saw the Magnesium I was very nearly sick and was bewildered as to why K would do such a thing .. now, after some time I have warmed to it ... although it's not as nice as the green ! ;D

Well actually....yes it is! 8)
The magnesium colour scheme is fab - get lots of comments on how good it looks. Still looks good when covered in muck (although I suspect Mr W would not regard that as a plus point)

+1
Mine's got some muck on it. Hope I can clean it soon... Noticed I actually have muck on the back of my top box. I never had this when the box was on my Versys...
