How about all of us airing our views about the dealers we use for our Gtr's.
I have been using the 'Cornwall Kawasaki Centre' for both purchasing and servicing my bike and my sons 'sponsered' Versys'; although he is between bikes at the moment.
They have been brilliant in offering fair deals for trade in's and purchases. I have been afforded a very personal experience with them to the point that one of the owners let me test ride his own GTR before I took the plunge.
I would recommend them to anyone as a bike purchase is as much about the backup as the bike in my opinion.
How have you faired?
Well I have to give a very big thumbs up to " Alfs " at Worthing West Sussex, who I believe won a top award from MCN a few years back for their customer service which they clearly deserve..... this is my first K and I have ranted about this dealership before ... it is everything that one should expect. 10/10 ;D ;D
I use P&H in Crawley, big dealership but I got the GTR from them as I had purchased lots of kit from them and they had always been excellent. They were great about test rides and the service thus far has been friendly and efficient, very impressed.
I have reccomended them to friends new to biking and they have been well looked after as well, which is refreshing.
10/10 for me
I'm using Dave Fox Motorcycles in Ramsgate for my servicing and have been very pleased with them. They seem to do a good job, the mechanic always has a chat, their prices are very reasonable and they let me have a loan bike FOC. My only criticism is they don't keep things like brake pads and tyres in stock but they are a small dealer and I imagine the overhead of stocking the parts for all the Kawasaki models would be crippling. I'd definitely recommend them.
For our previous GTR I used Laguna Motorcycles in Ashford. One mechanic there was very approachable but the rest didn't want to know. It appeared only the manager could make any decisions and if he wasn't there well tough, their hourly rate was expensive and they always seemed to charge for more hours than other people on a forum were paying for. Lyn decided to ring round when this GTR was due for its first proper service. Laguna quoted £200+ for a standard service, I paid Dave Fox £113 which included cleaning the brake calipers and changing the final drive oil and filter; that was less than I paid Laguna for the first service. I've used Dave Fox for the GTR ever since.
Not that this helps anyone here but if Alford Bros. In Folkestone did brands other than Yamaha and Suzuki I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Kevin
I know what you mean about P+H Cartman .... used to go in there a while back when I worked at Gatwick ... there used to be a small burger bar next door, quite literally I think it was a B+Q shed, but they supplied the snack and once inside the coffee was always strong ! Never purchased from there but would imagine they are as good as you say. ;D
I bought my Versys and now my GTR from Cradley Kawasaki and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. They are a Kawasaki only dealer. The sales guys are great, Gareth and Chris, and I think I had a pretty fair deal on my trade in and new purchase price. :-) It has been known that I've taken longer there than I should as I end up chatting with Gareth quite a bit!
I have always had my bike serviced there (well my V and now GTR) too and Roger is great too. He arranged for the big K to replace my exhaust on my V under goodwill from K. I think their labour costs have been very reasonable in the past too, comparing with what some chap at work paid for servicing at the Bristol Kawasaki dealers anyway.
Cradley currently have quite a lot of second hand bikes they've just reduced in price (Gareth was in pain reducing all the ticket prices!!), so if anyone is after a smaller alternative, then pop along!
I use Bradford Motorcycles, in, er, Bradford, West Yorkshire. I've bought a few bikes from them in the past, the owner was a tad pissed off when I didn't get my GTR from them but they couldn't find me one when I wanted one, so hey ho thats Life. Very friendly staff though, all know me by name and they have always been very helpful when it comes to ordering spares and giving advice etc.
I've asked them to look out for a decent 2010+ magnesium model for me which they are doing. :)
