Title: Ready for winter
Post by: Cartman on September 21, 2011, 08:52:27 AM
New tyres fitted, PR3s , wow what a difference! I've run PR2s on my last 3 bikes and loved the feel, grip and long life, 3s seem to be more of the same only even better in the wet on this mornings evidence. All the horrible vague feeling from the front has disappeared. Very pleased.

4k service done, oil and filter and full valet with ACF50 treatment. Normally do it myself but as the dealer was running a special offer though I'd give it a go, and glad I did, the spray gun definately gets in to the nooks and crannies better than a brush or can.

So ready for the winter and the 140 mile commuting season, let's hope the snow stays away this year. Can't think of anything else I need to do..........

The PR4's are due out in 2013. Hard to see how an already excellent tyre can be improved upon but there you go.

Fond memories driving over the severn bridge to Newport last year at 7am with -9 on the temp guage....heated jacket, heated boots, oxford bag thingies on the bars with heated grips at full pelt... lovely and warm....just hoping they gritted the car park....(which they didn't)

You know strangely I do, even doing the 70 miles home last winter in minus stupid degrees, still better than a car, which is just as well as I don't own one  :o Don't get me wrong I love the spring/summer too but there is a certain satisfaction in riding through the winter.

Pete I know where you're coming from ;D

Come on, I haven't even put the inner lining of my jacket back in yet.
And I live a few miles further north than you do.

Seems a bit premature to be talking about heated clothing! I remember being warmer on my GTR test ride than on my current Versys.

Mind you, it did remind me to drain and recharge the batteries in my heated gloves again. I do this a couple of times over the summer to try and keep them in reasonable charge state.

It's gonna be warm next week, so they tell us. Perfect for my first week with a GTR! :-)

I think I took my lining out for a couple of months  :D

Trust me, gets cold here. I commute over Penines which is highest motorway in England

Well I'm still wearing Air-Flow stuff with a micro-fleece underneath.  No linings in yet.

Surprised LW has jumped in! You've left yourself wide open for a left hook ...
