Title: Mounting my low pro Hero
Post by: Ziderman on September 14, 2011, 03:21:30 PM
Do any of you or have any of you ever used a Low pro Hero camera on your Bike & if so where & how did you mount it. I mainly use it for Kite surfing with head strap..
I notice lot of Cyclist use them while there commuting..guess for evidence for when they Ride up pavements & through Red lights...! ::)
I cycle too....but stick to highway code & cycle trail. God I am so good....... ::) Such a law abiding Citizen...Except on Quacker...you just have to do a ton at times....

Hi, I had a GoPro HD system, is that similiar to what you have? If so I mounted mine like this.....

The  cable tie was for my reassurance, it didn't really need it to be honest. Once its stuck on, its on for good but can be removed if needs must but it wont fall off during normal usage.

This was a bumpy route but this vid shows the view point etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR00SOMURyg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR00SOMURyg)

Thanks ...thats a specialized looking mounting. I use head band on water & I leash it to my harness as fear it being knocked off my head in the surf. Not had camera long , uploading film to FB or e mail seems to take an age .. what do you use for uploading etc ..Ta Alan

Alan, I've never uploaded any footage to Face Book, (never use it) and I wouldn't try and attach it to an email as the file size would be too large if you filmed in High Definition. I tended to upload to You Tube which even that could take over an hour for a ten minute clip again due to the HD. In some cases I just produced DVD's for my own benefit and then archived them. Yes I am that sad. I dont own the camera any longer as the novelty wore off, there are only so many roads you can film before they all start to look the same. I just concentrate now on my photography, its much less complicated.
The mount you see on my GTR is a standard mount from GoPro. They are also very cheap. Have a look at the GoPro web site.

I agree about Novety factor..I thought of that. But I have two sons who are at Uni & they kite surf as well so they will be using it. That & me & Motor bike. Should get fair use. Was telling Girl friend about how you can wear it doing lots different things.......not sure she picked up on what I meant though.... ;D
