Title: St st fasteners.
Post by: Jarfoster on August 18, 2021, 08:23:01 AM
I've fabricated a plate for a sat nav to be held in place by the handlebar riser bolts.
Would it be ok to replace these with st st bolts ?

Thats a difficult question to answer. I understand that there are different grades of stainless steel, but regardless of that it is a soft metal and you are considering using the fixtures in a relatively high stress position which would undoubtedly have very serious consequences if one or more should fail.

I believe the decision to use them or not, is a decision that only you can make.

A2 or A4 which is harder will both be more than up to the job.
