Title: What paint matches
Post by: nogoslow on August 01, 2011, 02:19:28 PM
Hey all. Just noticed today a blister in the paint on the tie rod that is above the shaft  :(. I'm looking to get it off and resparay it before it gets any worse, and was just wondering if any of you had ever needed to paint any of the silver bits on your bikes and if so any recomendations as to which paint matches most closely. Cheers

Usually, and I havn't looked on my bike yet, but K should put a sticker or marker under the saddle or by the tool kit with the paint name and or code on it for the perfect match .... if you can't buy it elsewhere then the dealer I fear would be the place to go .... but of course .... it's going to cost you !

just in case anybody else has problems with the paint finish on the bevel box, torque arm, swing arm etc. I called Cradley Kawasaki and they told me it is kawasaki phantom silver, code 458. I've done a bit of digging and it is the same paint as is used on the ZX6 frame from '02 and is readily available on ebay in touch up pen or aerosol. i have ordered some and will be re-painting my torque arm in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know how good a colour match it is once i've done it.
