Title: YouTube
Post by: Lonewolf on February 21, 2021, 09:27:05 PM
For a bit of fun and a point of reference I put some of my biking vids on my YT channel. The trip I did with Pete last year to Scotland, a.k.a. the Covid GTR 1400 meet trip has, much to my amazement amassed in only 6 months, 10700 views.

This is a huge shock to me as usually I get less than 100 views approximately per video. But on the other hand it just goes to prove how popular Scotland is amongst the biking fraternity.  Looking at the stats, the largest viewing audience is in the US closely followed by the UK. Theres even a good number of views from South Korea.

It's the quality of you work Steve

My parts 1,2 & 3 have drawn and audience of 48, 32 & 11 respectively. They were only published for any interested persons on here though and I have not shared the links widely. Mine were over-long for general consumption and I only really record stuff for my own benefit.

As it happens I spent a pleaseant hour last week looking back over my ride betweeen Peyrat le Chataeu and over the Milau Viaduct - of no interest to anyone else, but they make me happy  :biker3:

Pete, that's the main thing, as long as you enjoy them. I have watched the Scotland videos a few times just to jog my memory of why I love the place so much.  :mfr_lol:.

I'm very much looking forward to returning this year.  :biker3:

I'm going in late September as part of my 60th birthday. This will be my 1st foray to the Scottish Highlands. I am really looking forward to it.

Lonewolf, I have yet to view your Scotland vids. I have looked at a few of your other rides and, judging by the superb content and quality of those, I'm clearly in for some great viewing!

That's very kind of you to say so. I enjoy tinkering with the video editing lark and I'm constantly trying to improve them. Let me know what you make of the Scottish vids.

P.S. I can't believe you've never visited Scotland previously, outrageous!  :mfr_lol:

I know, outrageous indeed! We're riding the NC500 anticlockwise...long way from Devon. Overnight at Penrith on the way up and Kendal on the return.

Having already booked the accommodation I'm pleased BJ is planning to get us all back to some sort of normality by July.

Devon to Penrith? That's quite a journey in itself! The M6, despite being a motorway is actually quite alright and scenic in that area as your going through the mountains etc.

Penrith is a mere 25 miles from where we live and situated in a lovely part of the country
