Looking at Transits as I am I found a seller on that popular site the bay off fleas selling one cheap, way cheap, put his private email in the add and said he didn't check eBay at all, so for the crack and to find out how he wanted to proceed I said I would buy it.
He proposed using the PayPal pay and deliver service where you only pay after delivery, so I looked at it closer, it does not cover vehicles of any sort, plus the seller has to go through ebays selling process to qualify anyway.
He says he is 10 miles from me but in reality he is in Scotland so I said I have guys working up there who have company bank cards and can collect it anytime and transfer the money, he blocked me on eBay and refuses to reply.
Wonder why?
Maybe he's concerned about the van travelling from Scotland back to England and potentially spreading the virus. I'm sure it's something innocent like that! :mfr_lol:
Do you know you could be right, although on the Ducati forum I visit a guy selling a GS cheaply wrote the exact same response I had today, exact, word for word.
Don't get caught folks.
Scams seem to be getting more and more elaborate. These people need sorting out!
Contacted today by a supposed PC Day from Paddington Police Station serious fraud office. Someone was supposedly using a credit card with our details on it. Luckily her ladyship is very tuned in to this kind of fraud and continued to question him until he finally hung up. Reported the call but do not expect anything to come of that.
