Easy enough with a set of these:

Highly recommend these as I had mine lowered years ago.
No adverse effects and makes it more stable when two up.
Got mine off ebay and fitted by dealer, no problems....

Do you need to alter the centre and sidestands at all ?

Cheers

Hi,
I'm after lowering my gtr but have been told the 'dogbone' kits, such as the Lust system, reduces ground clearance.  Worried that with 2 up, and fully loaded, will have issues.

Is having the seat altered/foam skimmed a better bet? or is clearance not an issue with a dogbone kit?

Yes, changing the dog bones does reduce ground clearance, that's how they work.

Best bet is to try them, or, as you say, get your seat altered.
I didn't like the Kwack lowered seat, so best to get your altered.

The decision is yours, but it's easier to change the dog bones.

Thanks for that,

Have had the seat foam skimmed by a local upholsterer (who's also a biker so understands). Has definitely lowered the seat height by about 2cm, I can now sit with balls of both feet on the ground.

Initial road test, found to be comfy. Longer ride, 2 up planned for tomorrow.

Whilst on the subject of the seat...is the passenger section of the GTR seat the same as that on the ZX or ZZR 14? Thinking of getting a Triboseat passenger non slip pad, but they don't appear to make one for the GTR!
