Title: Tyre type change, TC problems?
Post by: l.u.v on April 08, 2020, 09:31:21 AM
Hi Guys!

First of all sorry for my english, it is not my natural language here, but I hope to understand me
I plan to change my 190 / 50 rear tyre with 190 / 55.
A good friend - Kawa mechanic and pilot - said that in this case TC it is activated more often because of the difference in height of the new tyre.
Has anyone noticed a change in Traction Control in this case?

PS: Below,my missile!

Thanks!

I don't have TC on my 2007 but the tyre size should have no effect on the TC as it is a system that reacts to sudden changes in wheel rotation speeds. The 55 sidewall rear tyre changes the curvature of the cross-section slightly and makes the rear slightly taller. Overall the only effect is that it turns in a bit faster. Some like it, others prefer the 50 sidewall. I prefer the 55
