Good day to you all... I've just purchased my first ever Kawasaki a lovely 15plate gtr which comes with a scorpion exhaust...
I am looking at purchasing an original exhaust as I prefer the bike a little quieter due to bloodbiking and visiting hospitals after midnight on runs etc etc.. Does anyone have one going and for that matter does it matter what year gtr1400 the original end can comes from ie 2007-2009 or 2015 onwards
Cheers all
Steve
I don't think you'll have too much trouble locating one, many are keen to bin them off due to their weight. I never changed mine, what comes with the bike, normally stays with the bike, is my motto. :mfr_lol:
Oh and welcome and very commendable work you are doing too.
Thanks for the reply my friend... Looking forward to some nice long trips out now

I've got one, from a 2012 model. The alloy end pieces need a coat of paint and there is a small area where the black has lifted [ fairly common problem ] I'd want £50 and shipping [ about £15 as it is heavy ]
Welcome along lazypara, as others have commented there are OEM exhausts out there which you could purchase
The Scorpion pipe isn't as noisy as some systems, however I do appreciate your concerns about excessive noise, also I'm not entirely sure which end can/slip on your bike has fitted
Before you go spending money on a replacement pipe I would suggest that you contact Scorpion directly and enquire if there is a sound moderator fitted to your particular pipe or if one is available for you to purchase and fit,.... this option could work out more cost effective for you
Just a thought
Welcome.
Guys big thank you for all the replies.. Greatly appreciated... Managed to get an exhaust from a 2016 in almost new condition as a fellow bloodbiker had one in his garage...
Glad you found one ... always liked mine  Enjoy the bike.
Welcome to the forum.
Glad you got the exhaust sorted to your satisfaction.
As a rule I like to keep my bikes fairly original although in the case of the GTR I'd still love to do a conversion to a twin pipe.
I know some people think of it as "the wheelbarrow look", but to me it just looks more balanced - I'm not looking for twice the noise.
Funny you should mention twin pipes on a GTR. It can be done and it has been done, Steph who came to one of our annual bike meets many years ago had done it to his bike. If I can find a photo I shall stick it on the thread for your gratification.
.
I must agree with you on the twin exhausts... Its a good look to have a nice balanced looking bike... Similar to the zzr1400 or fjr1300 and even the k1600gt...
In the end for the original look of the bike is a thing of beauty (am weird like that) 😁
I think it was 'Muzzy' who offered a twin pipe conversion
I am a fan of the standard pipe but now I have a scorpion one. Original was getting a bit manky.

Mine's a ZZR/ZX14 header and Delkevic cans. A guy here also modified a pair of the early ZX14 silver cans. They looked really good and a layperson wouldn't know they weren't factory.
A twin pipe set up does 'balance' the bike, and lets be honest the OEM spud launcher couldn't really be considered a thing of beauty :mfr_lol:
