Title: ZZRGT
Post by: Burchy on February 26, 2020, 04:37:13 PM
Having sold the GTR and replaced with a ZZR14 PS, I realise now how much more power could be available to the GTR
So, I was wondering about getting a sad old GTR and fitting a Gen1 ZZR cylinder head, injectors etc.  There's going to be issues with the cam chain etc, but its probably the same bottom  end so might not be insurmountable.
COULD end up with a super tourer with 190 ponies.  That'd be fun and would surprise a few riders.

Whaddya reckon?

Sounds adventurous and I doubt you'd get it insured unless you were going to be selective re what you told the insurance company which is always a dangerous game.

Easy way would be to have a turbo bolted on then you would be sure of getting what you want ,as lots of zzr14 have been done before ,

Can you not just get the ZZR engine and mate it to the GTR gearbox?

No idea if that's a go or not.

I owned a ZZR 1400  back in 2006/7 , it was awesome I cant imagine what Burchy's PR version is like  (I believe his is a 1441cc)

The standard  GTRs that I owned provided me with more power than I could handle

The 1441 engine, after 6000 revs, makes the GTR feel positvely pedestrian.  Huge grin factor.  It just flies up to very naughty figures.
This project is only in its infancy.  I've got to find the right GTR first.  I guess it'd be a GEN1  but GEN2 would be better
