Title: Width measurements
Post by: mighele on February 17, 2020, 07:19:03 PM
Hi All.

Sorry if this has come up before but I can't find anything definitive with the search.

Would one of you kind people be able to give me some measurements of their bike? There are a lot of sources online that say the bike is 790mm wide which seems way too small considering some people claim the bike is 1 meter wide.

Would someone be able to give me the following measurements? Preferably in mm but old money will do :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Mike

In other words, if you can get the mirrors though without hitting anything, the rest will follow!

Another good thing about the GTR if the wing mirrors Pass so will the bike.

Nice!

Has anyone considered or heard of taking the mirrors and panniers off and installing mirrors to the bars to make the bike a bit easier for urban use?

Seems like if the mirrors and panniers could be removed, the bike would be 790mm at its widest point (bars) and only 740mm or less at the fairing. This puts it at around the same width as about 95% of bikes on UK roads.

Is this crazy?

Yes this is crazy, I'm not sure why you would want to take the colour coded, integrated mirrors off the bike & then stick some God awful mirrors to the bars, it would like ridiculous. Taking the panniers off is one thing....but the mirrors? The bike can be used in all situations and it is not so big or wide that it cannot be used for commuting.

Had to ride round the north circular road from Southgate to Brentford the other day then up the M4 to Reading.
No worries, if the mirrors fit so will the rest.
Taking the mirrors off is asking for trouble and I've always thought of the panniers as integral to the bike.

You sure you want a gtr?
