Title: Fresh fields
Post by: Burchy on December 21, 2019, 01:42:48 PM
Well, after 7 years, 3 GTRs and 35000 on them, the last one is going in a couple of weeks.  I've been offered a 2016 zzr2400 performance sport with just 6000 miles on it and a trade-in value greater than what I paid for the bike 15 months ago.

If I don't get on with it, I reckon I'll still be able to sell it within a year and not lose money.

Managed to get a service, MOT, rack, topbox, centre stand and new akras, seat and heel plates as the original owner wants to move his existing ones onto a brand new zzr.  Thank you very much!

So, I've spent the morning pulling off the TomTom mount, the R&G crash bars and the rear footrest lowering kit.  Selling these seperately to help lower costs.  Oh, and a pair of panniers in MMS blue complete with keys and inner bags!

It's not without a big slice of regret that I do this.  The GTR has been a wonderful machine for me and I've been all over Europe on them

But, hey ho, onwards and upwards...

Good  luck with the ZZR Burchy, I assume its a 1400 not 2400

I owned a ZZR 1400 back in 2006 and it was a hell of a machine, sadly I suffered back pain with the riding position,

Let us know how you like the new' un

The ZZR is a formidable beast, 2kwacks has had a couple, maybe more, he currently has the 1440 2019 model and not only does it look the business, but it delivers as you would expect. Looking forward to seeing it again in May on our Scottish tour.

So, congratulations on your new bike, I'm sure it will serve you well. Just watch your licence.  :mfr_lol:

Oops.  fat fingers again

I'm well aware of potential back problems as I've had 2 lower back discs taken out and a large plastic stabliiser put in to hold what's left together.  OK on the GTR and the ZXRs so, i'm hopeful

Picked up the new (to me) ZZR today.  Quite sad to take the old GTR down to the shop and have to leave it there

I know what you mean, O.C.  Got to the first clear road after picking it up.  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, look down to see what gear I'm in and OOh, better slow down a bit.  110 a tad too quick for this road...

I still can't believe how mint it is for a 2016 bike.  all of its 6100 miles must have been done in dry sunny weather

Health to enjoy,  Burchy.  Should have kept both. The GTR wouldn't be deprecating much. I've a GTR and Blackbird in the garage. Cheap insurance policy covers both. Not a huge amount of money tied up in them. Twice the fun.
