Following on from the Rain thread, what kit do you guys wear/ recommend? Anything you've tried you would steer clear of too?
I wear a Dainese gore-tex suit, which is brilliant even in the snow.
Daytona boots, expensive but after 35000 miles in 3 years, in all weathers, worth every penny!
Held gloves for the wet, really good feel and never leak, Alpinestars jet road for the cold and Dainese the rest of the time, sooo comfy.
Dainese leather jacket
Sartso Kevlar jeans, really comfy but I'm not convinced by any of them.
Tried some Held gear, top of the range gore-tex pro, but it was rubbish, cold, cheap zips and slung on EBay in weeks.
Tried Rukka on but didn't like the price, massively overpriced IMO, and those gore-tex lockout zips I loathe with a passion. The Held jacket had them on and I had to return 3 in two weeks, in fairness lots of manufacturers use them but never met anyone that likes them.
I'm a Hein Gericke man myself, but will lean to a different brand next time.
I have the HG Master V suit which is brilliant. Only gripe I have is that the old style zips keep coming off the main garment and this is the second time is going back to be fixed.
Edit: forgot to mention I have the Daytona boots (the HG version). I got a size too small and in winter I can feel the cold. Time to eBay them and get a size bigger. I'm currently wearing my 7 yr old HG boots that are falling to bits, but they are so comfortable.
Had a lot of HG gear both bought and supplied for work and it has always been first class, both waterproof and breathable.
Currently using Halvarrson kit for work - good kit but heavy and hot.
This season I bought a Rayven Air Flow suit. Cheap but excellent bit of kit. Friend of mine who is a bike instructor has worn his every day - summer and winter for 2 years and it is still in A1 condition.
It has a removable waterproof quilt lining for winter/wet weather. Take it out and it's like a tee shirt to wear but fully armoured. If weather turns I have been wearing a waterproof jacket (Halvarrson shell) and a pair of waterproof overtrousers. Never been wet yet this summer even in torrential rain in Switzerland.
Gloves - Weise. I have their Oslo gloves for inclement and Air Flow gloves for nice!
Boots - Alt-Berg, the best boots ever!
I have tried all sorts of 'systems' over the years and gotta say the cheapo Rayven combined with decent waterproof over jacket/pants (Gore-Tex for breathabilty) is the best combo I have come across.

In hate you all,.... yes all of you,.... ;)
Brand names? I wish any one of the "brand names" made a single item in Boomer size.
I have a jacket, trousers and rainsuit from JTS (http://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/ (http://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/)).
Boots (Size 16US/14½UK/51EU) are 11 years old, were custom made for me by Prexport (my god, a Brand name!) and they won't make them any more.
Have been resoled twice and will need it again soon. Leak like a sieve but are all I have.
Gloves are whatever I can get in XXXXL (currently have 4 year old summer gloves and 3 year old "lobsterclaws").
Helmet is a Lazer Revolution that I may not be able to replace as they have stopped making them.
The only thing I have that is a "normal" size is my lid which is a medium (57/58).
I did buy a set of AlpineStars MX boots with the hope of road riding with them.
Nope, can't change gear in the damned things as they are designed for riding standing up. :-(
As you all know .... RUKKA for me 1st time every time ;D
Halvarssons Optimal Jacket and Targa Pants
Joe Rocket 'something or other' Jacket
Tecnik Pants x 2
Joe Rocket Leather Jacket...never used.....i need to lose some weight before i can wear it
Held Gloves (on their way)
Knox zero Gloves (on their way out..on account of being extremely 'not 'waterproof)
Oxtar Boots..bullet proof until last Saturday...at which point they just leaked!!
keeping my eyes peeled for Daytona Boots (although i'll probably buy them in Germany as its cheaper and i can but less VAT)
I used to buy all my kit in the states when the exchange rates where in our favour..btu sadly not so any more.......bloody pound is worth nothing...anywhere! ;D
Akito track jacket. (got caught in a really heavy thunder storm last week, no leaks, really impressed concidering price)
spada blizzard winter gloves (ebay) cheap, warm yet not too thick and haven't leaked yet
HG goretex gloves for warm and wet(ok but when hands are damp the liner sticks and pulls out, V-annnoying)
Alpinestars SP1 gloves for warm and dry.
Australian biker gear trousers(ebay) cheap and cheerfull but comfy
cheap gardening over trousers for heavy rain.
Still using alpinestars supertech boots, very NOT waterproof but carrier bags over feet are if it rains.(saving for Daytonas)
Slowly changing to touring kit from race kit after buying the GTR.
