Just completed a 1500 miles trip around southern ireland. Fantastic place to take a touring bike. Road s are good mainly, although a bit sketchy on some of the minor roads. Fuel is cheaper than UK and accommodation about the same.
Just remember that you dopn't go to Ireland for the sunshine!. It rained for 8 days out of 10, so the bikes got a bit of a pasting. strangely, I dont suppose we say more that 30 other bikes all the time we were there. The natives were very friendly and loved seeing the big bikes ( my GTR, 2 ZZR14s and an Sx1000)
Staying in a mix of hotels and AirB&B, I guess the whole thing cost about £1000 including ferries, so not bad value
Worth going!
Good to hear you enjoyed it.
I've eyed up doing somthing similar but the ferry and accommodation costs have always looked higher than mainland Europe, that with the weather has held me back.
Are we getting any pictures??
That looks good ... I like the map and the mix of Airbnb and accommodation ... piccies ????
Sorry I've not added any pics yet. Been a tad busy with daughter's wedding last weekend and now soon off to France for 10 days to get over it. I'll see if I can get some posted in a day or so
Here's some
Nice photos there ... does look a little damp though ! Ireland is certainly on the hit list ..one of those places that is so close (like Paris) and yet I have never been ... all reports are really good especially the hospitality so it will definitely have to go in the pot for some proper planning
Very nice photos, many thanks for posting them. I've never personally been to Ireland, perhaps one day.
There's loads more detail and pictures on the Club-kawasaki forum webpage

I have been four times but alas not on the bike .
It was to go fishing 🎣 can't carry all my gear on the GTR 🤔 looked at it a couple of times :mfr_lol:
We traveled in a minibus and transit for the gear still very enjoyable
We have toured Ireland, North and South of the border many times and have always enjoyed it. Yes the weather can be a bit wet but the scenery, roads and locals more than make up for it. We normally go from Holyhead or Cairnryan and take in some of Scotland as well. This year its the NW200 again for us via Cairnryan, ferry fare si £120m return for bike and 2 people. Last time we went the weather was glorious for 2 whole weeks.
Sounds lovely Chris !
