Title: Greetings!
Post by: Mogster on July 18, 2011, 05:29:36 PM
I have just joined the ranks of GTR-ers!!

The purchase of the GTR came about after I arrived home from this years holiday touring around France and Andorra on a recently brought BMW 1200GS.... oh dear we didn't get on me and the GS, OK on the autoroutes or with no luggage, but load it up for 2 weeks worth of riding, point it at a mountain pass and FOOKIN HELL it's heavy..... bit like riding a Camel... at speed, you kinda know it's gonna make the corner, but the shapes it makes on the way through is ...erm 'interesting'... bars to front wheel joined by yogurt... mind you i suppose riding it like a twat every where didn't help much.
Anyway, the GTR feels much more 'normal'...anyone whos had a GS or ridden one will understand. so i'm looking forward to my next trip in September

I also have an aprilia Tuono for hooning about.

Regards The Mogster

Hello Mogster and greetings to you !
As Mr Wolf says ... where are you from ? You hear a lot of stuff about the Gs and most of it is good but not for everyone ! A friend of mine has just had a BMW K1300 GT for a week ( it's a long story ) and took it to Wales .... he said it was just quite incredible in every aspect ... now they don't make it anymore and do the 1600 instead !
I am sure you will, like the rest of us love your Gtr ... I do  ;D

Yep , the Gs is ugly compared to the Gtr, but the BMW K1300 recently morphed into the K1600 GT ... now THAT is a nice bike  ;D

I live in St Albans, most expensive town on the monopoly board, only rich Russian and Eastern european gangsters can afford to live here now,lol.......

But i spend a fair bit of leisure time in France as my sister lives just out side Le Mans..one is thrice blessed!!!

i have been spending the last week 'doing stuff' to the GTR mostly buying stuff on the interweb then sending it back cos i'd got the wrong bit.... Ebay and Wine are not a good mix.

soooo now we are sporting a Tank cover, garmin thingy, satnav mount (both sorts,,,ffs,,,, but it was a nice bottle of Red) R and G rad protector, fook me that was fun to fit!

Prolly get a fender-extender and i have some inner bags to sort, i see the HG ones pop straight in ..bounus.

Also i'm going to fit some 3m film to fit to the body work where ones knees sit as it do seem to get a tad scratched up, but thats a job fer a weeks time as i'm orf to France ...again...
