Just tried it, stuck solid. I know there was a way to strip them down and clean them out, any ideas? :help:
Before getting heavy handed try this:. Take off the adjuster unit from the frame. Up end it and fill the top (which is now at the bottom) with WD-40, or similar and let it soak in for 24 hours or so. Worked for me
I think there's a small pin you can knock out to get the knob off, but there is a danger of the ball bearing and spring disappearing i believe unless you are careful. I've always had success by unbolting the adjuster from the frame and submerging it overnight in a bag of wd40. I've only done it once and its still working 3 years on.

I drilled a 3mm hole in the top surface of the adjuster knob, about halfway between the centre and the outer edge.
Unbolt the adjuster unit and hold it upright. Squirt penetrating oil into your hole and leave for a day, then drain and refill. After a few times you will see a load of dirt come out with the penetrating oil, finally when it rotates smoothly, fill with oil and drain again.
I stretched a piece of bicycle inner tube over the adjuster to stop dirt getting in.
Thanks guys, up ended and soaking as I type

Had a look for that but the pictures aren't there anymore.
Soaked overnight, a little bit of movement, not all the way, but VERY stiff. More soaking I guess.
I have not located pictures but here's a good description from Debs, who is no longer active on the forum
This may help

Many thank's, we have movement, spent yesterday and today soaking, tonight we have movement with quiet clicks
Keep exercising it and it will improve
Well that's definetly working, a lot easier to turn this morning, followed advise from Doebag and drilled a small hole in the cap just big enough to fit the straw nozzle of a lubricant can through. gave it a thorough soaking and left overnight. Worked it a few times and it's a lot easier to adjust. Fitting a cover on the end should keep the elements out.
