My sources inform me that our OC has recently been involved in an incident whilst riding his new bike. He was hit by a power saw coming off a truck which hit his bike and done quite a bit of damage. The bike had only 250 miles on it. Fortunately he was unscathed but it must have been a horrible experience.
:censored: that sounds pretty bad. Despite our differences, I sincerely hope he is alright. Shame about the bike but it is after all only a bike and can be replaced. If he's come off unscathed as you say, he was bloody lucky!
Hope yer OK Rog.
Pete, your information is partly correct...... Thankfully
I was travelling on a major trunk road at about 50mph when a 3 foot long hand wood saw blew out of the back of a builders pick up truck that was travelling in the opposite direction it flew (literally )across the lanes and hit my bike then glanced off my left leg. it was a scary experience.
Some panels under the front left side of my bike have been damaged, thank the lord the saw wasn't flying higher or things could have benn very, very different. ...... being hit on the upper torso with a saw at about 90 mph simply doesn't bear thinking about
So, I'm Okay, albeit very p*ssed off, but aware that it's only plastic which will replace and in the wider scheme of things in today's society I got off lightly
Thanks all for your concerns, it is appreciated
BTW the new bike is absolutely spectacular  /color]
Glad you escaped unharmed that must have been nerve racking seeing that approaching you .
As you say a bit of plastic damaged and not you . 👌
Crikey that is a freak experience and sounds very unpleasant too
Roger, I and everyone else here I am sure hope you are ok and able to get back on your new bike ... as I always said to people at the scene "You can replace that car sir but we can't replace you"
Keep us updated.
Rusty, Thank you, I'm ok and consider myself lucky
The damage to the bike is superficial and it is still perfectly rideable, in fact nothing is visible when looking at the bike, however if you crouch down and look underneath the front section then broken panels and saw teeth marks are very clearly visible, the front fender is also split
Clearly you have purchased a sturdy bit of kit then !
It's a Kawasaki, what else would you expect !
Just saw this O.C. Glad you're ok. Did you get to keep the saw?
No I didn't Jim, in fact I have passed by that area since and there was no sign of it, although it may have ended up in the long grass at the side of the road
It was like this, well at least the handle was Blue

Yes thank you for asking, the damaged panels have been replaced, I was pleased that the cost was very acceptable (less than my excess) I was especially pleased that the required panels were immediately available from Kawasaki considering that the bike is brand new to the market, all that is required are a couple of decals on the front fender and they are already at my dealers ready for fitting next week.
Good work Roger .. very pleased to hear that.
Yes, good thing he saw it coming.
The visor on his helmet saved him because it was made using the latest cutting edge technology. :whistling:
