Title: No deal
Post by: PRD on January 04, 2019, 06:19:04 PM
So if we leave the EU with no deal end of March, touring becomes slightly more complicated. We will need a green card
from our insurers and an I D P( international driving permit). Depending on where you go you may need two I d p's because there are two types. For example if visiting Spain and France you will need a different type for each country. Seems like a backward step to me.

It'll be fine, don't panic. 😁 We'll all be laughing about this in a couple of years and saying what was all the fuss about.

I must  agree, when I plan to tour abroad the requirement of obtaining a Green card wouldn't be a stumbling block for me,

Could this lady be a suitable replacement for the PM ?

Not a stumbling block for me but so unnecessary.

Travel insurance will get more expensive as your E111 won't cover you.
Everything will cost more due to crap exchange rate.
Most of Europe will blame the upcoming recession on Brexit, and they will be partially right.

I really do hope that we can make Brexit work, but given the caliber of our elected representatives, I seriously doubt it.

Worst decision made for this country and will have long term bad effects.

I worked throughout Europe, Eastern Block and the Middle east for years carrying green cards, carnets, T forms and spent long hours/days clearing customs, I'm sure everything will be made much simpler regardless, it works both ways and the foreign nationals have already put massive pressure on their governments to have a simplified transit system regardless of the deal or no deal Brexit.

From a trade/business perspective I can understand that this is a worrying period of uncertainty but as an individual I don't believe it will have any negligible effect on my self or finances, however only time will tell.

IT will definitely effect trade as EU is our largest market. Fresh produce from Eu will be effected too as it Wil, be  less viable for them to sell to us due to tariffs. We will be less able to work and travel freely in the Eu. And we may struggle from staff shortages in organisations like the NHS.

Will it have any impact on my ability to travel to Scotland or will I need a passport now?

Hey, I am dafter than OC so be quiet.

Leave is the best option, regardless of any short term hassle.
