Will be changing my tyres in the next couple of week's, running with Michelin PR4 GT's at the moment, been a great tyre and saw me down to Croatia in extremely wet weather with no dramas. Had Pirelli Angel GT's fitted before that.
Without trawling through the site what is the current preferred weapon of choice?
Price wise there wasn't much in it between the above two set's.
Thank's in advance.
Angel gts for me. Had too many punctures with michelins.
I called in at a local bike meet a couple of weeks ago and in the car park was a BMW K1600 GT with a flat rear tyre - a Road Pilot!
I’m on my first set of Angel GT A rated only broke them in 250 miles but at the moment can’t fault them if I recall correctly £304 with fitting on the bike I think the shop charged £40 for fitting on the bike iits around a tenner if you take in just the wheels
£340 for tyres and fitting ??

i've had pr3's & pr4's in the past, in my opinion the 3's were better than the 4's,each to there own opinion,PRD suggested ANGEL GT'S,i am more than happy with them,i will put them on again when required.

I had the 3s couldn't fault them was on the bike when p/xd it ( Bristol Bob now owns her 👌 )
Tried to get some no chance only 4s and 5 s available so went the Angel GT route happy days
Just booked a pair of Michelin road 5's for tomorrow £276 fitted to loose wheels (good chance for me to check pads, bearings etc).
I've only done 6k from new with the bt21's but the rear is already square (probably 1.5k miles left) and we're off on 4.5k mile holiday next week. I'm not the best/fastest rider but I agree there is some resistance going into bends with the 21's.
I've been massively impressed with the 4's on my Suzuki sv1000 and a friend has just put a pair of 5's on his bm 1200rs and again is hugely impressed.
Michelin do not recommend the PR5 for the GTR. They recommend pr4gt or pr3
I'm told that a pr5gt will be available soon which will be the correct ones from them
It's just the website that's not updated yet, a GT road 5 will be available next year but it's not a necessity for the gtr more of a personal choice.
Very different pattern from the 4 the front tyre looks like it should be fitted the other way round.
Although the front had plenty of meat on it the tyre shop said it had worn to a very strange shape, I was always told to run new tyres in for 200 miles, they said these are ready to go after only 50.
I got the information directly from Michelin at Armoy races last weekend. His word is good enough for ne

Very disappointing that the races were abandoned, so much planning and hard work to no avail.
I live less than 25 minutes ride away and we called off our plans to be there when we saw the weather
I'm running PR5's and not noticed any problems. I also ran the PR4's NON GT version as I hated the wear profile on the GT ones. As I caveat, I ride with no pillion.
I did think initially that the PR5's seemed 'heavy' and needed a bit more effort to turn in compared to the PR4's , but I've got used to that now and don't notice any issues.
The side profile of the rear is very soft and chews up easily. Great feedback though and I'm back to grinding the pegs too much  It's a noticeably different tread colour so it looks like you've got massive 'chicken strips'
It's a real chunky tread and looks to be wearing well, maybe better than the PR4's.
I put PR5's on for our holiday, very thankful I did. The roads in northern Norway were really bad, they are also replacing the E6 with a much bigger straighter road so there was quite a lot of joins, bits missing and so on.
We did about 4400 miles in everything from 30 degree heat to riding for 9 hours (including 2 short ferries) in a storm. (Bloody tomtom let in water!)
2 up with a 55 litre givi top box and a tank bag the tyres were brilliant and never once gave us cause for concern.
The wear pattern looks really odd due as 1ka says to the soft sides, didn't notice turn in issues but we were fully loaded and the BT21's they replaced were very difficult to get over.
