Sir Cliff Richard 1
The BBC 0
Congratulations!
It would be a nice gesture on his part if he gave some of his winnings to charity.
Smoke, fire?

Why? He's gone through hell with this allegation.

it would make him look really good after all he is a Christian.
BBC were bang out of order.
IIRC it's still "innocent until proven guilty" although with trial by press/social media these days nobody stands a chance.

Prior to this, when have you ever heard or read any dirt on Cliff? Probably never as he's squeaky clean.
I like Cliff, he seems a very genuine guy.

South Yorkshire Police were bang out of order too, I'm not convinced they can do anything right. Their recent past history leaves a lot to be desired, The Rotherham child abuse cases, Hillsborough and then Cliff. I'll be surprised if they have any money left in their budget by the time they've paid out compensation to all the victims they've ignored.

You can't go round calling people paedo's just because you feel like it.
What smoke exactly?
I don't if he is guilty or not, I'm with Boomer in that the way his arrest was handled was unreasonable, but CPS don't normally issue arrest warrants without some credible evidence.

They didn't issue an arrest warrant, they issued a search warrant.
Big difference.

Firstly CPS do not issue arrest warrants at all and secondly Cliff was never arrested for any offences, he attended voluntarily to be interviewed which is normal practice these days. He was also never charged with any offences.

Again CPS do not issue search warrants. The CPS are prosecutors.
CPS are always making mistakes. No two CPS lawyers rarely agree with each other and often when they authorise a charge and something gets to Court it is then thrown out because they have no evidence to offer. Its almost like they're not fit for purpose!,
.
Cliff wasn't arrested or charged with any thing. If I made an allegation to the Police that you were known to play with children and that there was evidence in your house; How would you feel, knowing that it was complete bull :shit:, if the Police told the press who then reported it quite freely, letting all your friends and colleagues think the worst and start to question your integrity? No smoke without fire though, eh? The press should keep their mouths shut until a person has been charged or, at the very least until the Police (following a correct procedure) ask for them to release information to enable evidence to come forward.
Just realised that this stream of posts had gone onto a second page and so it looks like I have repeated some of what has been said already. Also just to say that I am not really a fan of Cliff Richard but following the treatment of Joanna Yeates landlord Christopher Jefferies after her murder in Clifton, Bristol, proved then that the press should not be allowed to release names of innocent people without just cause (not decided by them). They keep harping on about the freedom of the press without thought of freedom of the innocent. Rant over
All the twats in the bbc should be shot ,, no respect at all for sir cliff ,,jimmy savile they knew what he was doing and chose to turn a blind eye , people should not be named unless charged ,
Never mind sackings, the BBC should be broken up and abolished.
The mighty BBC pmsl :censored: They will put the licence fees up again to pay of cliff :censored:

definitely not as much on commercial tv such as virGin and sky etc. Their hour long programmes are about 35 mins when ads deducted.

Accepted, not commercially or during programmes, ........ but it's not accurate to say the BBC doesn't advertise, they seem to do so more and more between programmes
I have no doubt he will give the money to a charity ... he doesn't need it and his christian beliefs will take him that way.
