After reading about Kevlar riding jeans I decided to purchase a pair of bull it jeans , well after being told that they were cooler to ride in ,I'm finding in this heat they are just as hot as leather ,has any body else tried some and what do they think ,,
I have a couple of pairs of the draggin Kevlar jeans I'm not into leathers prefer textiles But as you say they do get quite warm but when moving not to uncomfortable.
In 2009 had a head on crash ( low speed 30 ish ) jeans only scuffed no rips or tears but my leather jacket the shoulder was ripped open .
The jacket may have had more contact with the road not sure be happy with the jeans survival rate
I have had Draggin jeans for years and rate them highly
Try mesh trousers. Give you protection but let air in. Held and dainese are two companies that make them.
I use either Hood Jeans (if the weather is cool) or Lindstrands (for hot days) to ride around on the old bikes. They both seem to work well, although my Hood jeans (probably 4 - 5 years old now) are quite a lot heavier than the Lindstrands (new last year).
For touring on the modern bike, I use a Halverssons textile suit. This is quite well ventilated provided that you keep moving!
I use RST jeans and find them comfortable enough to wear all day. Kevlar lined to the knees and with knee inserts as well. No problems with being too hot
I have a pair of .... hold on .... BMW (there I said it !!!) Summer pants .. strangely enough to go with my BMW bike .. very similar I am sure to the other makes out there and they have been very good over the last 3 years in this hot hot weather .. Spain twice and Sussex last week in 25+ degrees .. nice and cool and all armoured up ... very much recommended
