Title: Tank Bag 2009 GTR

Hi all looking for a tank bag about 15 ltrs was hoping to fit a ring lok from givi but apparently they only do it from 2012 on, can anybody recommend a good alternative , needs to be easily removed for fuelling as i will be touring with it.

i have always used bagster on all of my bikes ,with no problems

Thanks looked at Motec but they dont do a fitting for pre 2012 models.

I had an SW Motec day bag (tank mounted) on my 2009 bike, TBH I never used a larger version but always thought that given the correct profile that a larger bag would fit...the 'ash tray' box on the bike may complicate fitment

The tanks have never changed so if the ringlok fits 2012 it will fit all of the other years. You just won't be able to use the glovebox.

Thanks for the comments guys think you are probably right the tanklok will fit but obviously wont be able to use the tank compartment which wont be a problem.

Depending on what make of bag you buy.
The tank compartment is higher than the tank ring, preventing the bag engaging correctly.

Any magnetic tank bag, I use the same one touring on my own with my SV1000 or on the gtr with the Mrs.

I use a magnetic tank bag which I bought from Aldi about 8 years ago. Still does the job and is easy to use on any bike.

I have to admit that I was wrong....having looked at pictures of my 2009 bike it DIDN"T have a tank mounted bag...it was in fact fitted to a later GTR I owned

Thanks for all your comments ,
I have fitted an oxford ring to the tank and then fitted spacers (about 18mm) to the tank bag to raise it above the tank compartment.
It works fine just done a trip to Corsica with no problems.
Hope this helps anyone thinking of fitting one.
