Hi I have a 2010 model with just over 40k on the clock. The rear suspension has always been fine (I've had the bike for 3 years) but after the last camping trip I abused the system and the shock is now showing signs of imminent demise. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced replacement please, or should I stick with the stock item? I'm leaning towards the genuine item but I'd appreciate your advice. I ride mainly two up and very frequently have a good 50 to 60 kilos of luggage (we don't travel light :) ) TIA, John
Welcome to the forum
You could choose a standard used unit like this
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/KAWASAKI-GTR-1400-2009-rear-shock-absorber/132598584316?hash=item1edf7dd3fc:g:AscAAOSwQFNa4YHx
Or if you fancy improving the handling as well as replacing your worn out unit you could consider one of these

Hagon is a good value choice had one on my zzr11 , excellent ,
Thanks for that, much appreciated. I didn't know you had a zzr1100 G :) I have had a look at Hagon shocks but theirs are for the previous model. I understand on the 2010 version the rear suspension was altered. O.C., I think for the time being I will go down the standard route. I've done 24,000 miles in 3 years, ridden in winter, going to rallies been loaded to the gunwales and the standard unit coped well. As you say there are a number on Ebay, whether I'll buy a new one depends on finance. Thanks once again.

No problem...hope you get sorted soon.
Here's a site you could check, they have lots of spares so you will have to trawl through, however it could prove to be worth the effort

O.C. I think I shall get the one you highlighted from Ebay. I can send my own unit off then to have it refurbished. Many thanks, John
