The best thing I did was to take my seat to Custom seats at Coventry...£250/£270 but well worth it.  We rode down through France last year and did a smig under 500 miles and got off the bike ok, no numbness anywhere.

+1 for custom seat's. Rode down to Croatia and back last September, all good.

I guess its horses for courses, or in this case bums for seats.  I did a round trip to Penzance from Southampton, last Oct, 450 miles in a day and got back with no ill effects at all on a standard seat

Similar for me, the most I ever did on my original 2008 GTR was 550 miles from home to Girvan in Scotland and back home again. I was tired at the end but didn't have a stiff bum.
