Hi all, does the GTR need a specific Main Battery as my stealer/dealer has said he is struggling to get one quickly, fact or fiction?

Handbook just states 12V/14Ah
Type FTZ14-BS
No mention of special type or smart charge system.
Maybe he just means the recommended make by Kawasaki is hard to source.

Just look on ebay.  There's loads available.  I got a Motobatt one.  Comes with 4 terminals so easier to add accessories without losing main power to the system.

Motobatt get's my vote as well.
I have one on my Z1100, the extra terminals making adding accessories a lot easier.

/me wanders off whistling to look for the secondary battery. Didn't realise we had that much electrickery on the GTR
