Nothing to do with bikes but just got reemed for 206 quid for a battery for my van ,not buy a stop start the price on batteries is mad vent over lol
If I've understood this I bought a 125 honda scooter to replace my 250 for getting around locally. It has this stop/start crap. The scooter was 2nd hand 600miles on he clock but the battery was toast in less than a year. Replaced with a motobatt Ike all my other bikes turned off stop/start nonsense, no problems since.
Well the rac man told me the new cars and vans have a smart charging system and i could put a normal battery on but it will not charge correctly, he even had to plug his laptop in and reset the system ,might be bull shit
I'm no sparks, but as I understand it, smartcharge relies on the ability of the battery which is of the Silver Calcium type to receive a higher charging voltage when cold than a standard lead acid battery.
