The time has come to change the original 023s .
With work and other commitments not putting much mileage on.
Anyway the reason I am posting this for some unaware it's very hard to find road pilot 3s I have been informed by 3 different fitters they have stopped making them and your choice is 4s or the new 5s.
Apart from other brands my best price for fitting a set of 4s GTs on the bike is £290 . ( taking just wheels in it's cheaper)
Has anybody tried the 5S yet .
Thanks in advance

On my previous bikes (ST1100's & Blackbirds) I was a big fan of the Avon Storms in their various incarnations.
On the GTR I currently have the newer version (now called the Spirit ST (http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/spirit-st)) and equally love them :)
BTW the nice thing about Avons is their Road Hazard warranty (http://www.avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/faqs) (which I have used in the past). Get a puncture in the first 1mm of wear and they replace FOC (other than fitting charges)
Take a look at Metzeler Roadtec01 The HWM version. I've got nothing but praise for them and I'm on the second set now

On the review I found they stated the roadtec no 1 off the 4 tested pilots 2nd and Pirelli 3.
They did say roadtec are for the more sportier rider

Just an update for people who may not be aware.
I have just purchased the Pirelli angel GTs after a lot of research.
Just to make anybody thinking of purchasing aware.
You need The Pirelli Angel GTs ( A rated ) they are a duel compound tyre with a thicker / stiffer side wall. due to 2 up and loading weight reports say they are good for around 8000 miles so we shall see
Good choice. I have been using them for a long time since a spate of punctures on michelins. You will not be disappointed.

According to the lads at the tyre fitters they are the closest tyre you will get for a motorcycle to the run flat type on cars 👌
