Title: Horn's, LOUD type.
Post by: GTRpilot on January 30, 2018, 10:43:44 AM
After two near death experiences with blind driver's on yesterday's commute  :censored:, (Raining and dark), and despite having front spot's fitted and upgraded bulb's these idiot's still failed to see me, one on a roundabout and one on the Motorway. When I hit the horn it sounded a bit pathetic and not sure one of them even heard it.
So maybe an upgrade would help, it's something else in the armoury for self preservation.
Anyone fitted a louder trumpet?
I have heard the Stubhel's??? have had problem's with failing and the producer's sometimes up the hype of the supposed loudness of their horn's.
So any practical advice if you've got one fitted, is it loud?

I would recommend PIAA dual horns, they have a classy twin note sound and are plenty loud enough to warn others of your presence

I fitted these, they are an easy installation using the existing horn mounting (or your own) and the cost is very reasonable

Here's some pictures showing the installation before, during and after

I fitted the same easy peasy and with the new horns comes some wire I made the link with as you are changing from a single horn to a double set up  just needed the crimps which only cost pennies
