Well this bike is definitely creating a stir in the great big biking world, it'll be interesting to see how its reception generates into real sales.

I'm off to the NEC end Nov. Hope onevthere for a perk.
Note I've not found a pikkie yet with a top box though. Only panniers. Bummer

I noticed that too, not having a top box would be a mistake IMHO
Prices are £15,00 for the SX and £18,000 for the SE. Think I'll stick with my ZZR1400.
The pillion's gonna be comfy on a long run and become very friendly with the inside of their knees
I've decided on trading in my GTR for an SX next March.
The more I look at the SX the more I want one
Has anyone tried an insurance quote for one of the new SX supercharged bikes yet? :nono: I bet the insurance cost may be as off putting as the purchase price. :whistling:

I can't see it being more than a ZZR14
Just put a turbo on the gtr , job done ,, if the shaft could handle it ,, :biker3:
Prices have been announced base model H2SX 15,099.00 and the H2SX SE 18,099.00 :biker3:
18 litre tank I see, no good as a 2 up tourer then.
I went to the NEC bikeshow Friday.
It created a lot of attention on the stand but IMHO I wouldn’t have thought that SWMBO would be a happy comfortable bunny on it and it only had panniers so I would think it’s for the solo tourer that’s just my opinion.
PS they didn’t bother with a GTR on the stand as no model this year in the uk .

reports indicate that this bike is extremely efficient, hence the ability to fit a relatively small fuel tank which of course will reduce weight
Was there on sun at show saw new sx , looked ok , if it had been a gtr with supercharger on and lots of extras then it would have had more wow factor ,,, thought that the show was poor ,seems to be less to look at ever year ,
Had a good look at the SX myself on Sunday at the NEC, lovely looking bike, perfect all rounder for a Solo Rider, a bit short in the seating area to offer real world long distance comfort for two, no provision for a top box.
I would own one, but for touring with the wife as I do I'll need to keep the GTR for many years to come unless a suitable alternative is brought out by someone, GTR and Pan European are both victims of E4 emissions regulations, the Honda VFR again is too small and has no tank range, will the FJR survive, currently meets the emission regulations and I imagine sales will now increase with less competition in the marketplace.

Sorry to stray off topic, but can anyone explain why the GTR won't conform to EU4 when the ZZR which shares the same engine does and has been rolled through to the 2018 range? The only significant thing I can think of is the exhaust system and IMO a twin pipe system shared with or based around the ZZR would improve the GTR's looks.

Though the GTR and ZZR share the same engine capacity the engines themselves are very different, GTR has variable valve timing etc etc. I wouldn't mind if they fitted the ZZR engine into the GTR, I've owned a 2012 ZZR and it was fantastic, I'm sure Kawasaki could easily fit it to the GTR.
The GTR is based on the older ZZR with a 1352 engine. Newer ZZRs have a 1441 engine

I agree 100% I thought it was very poor I didn't go last year as two years ago I thought it was poor.
I gave them the benefit of doubt this year but alas it was worse.
Not even the coach in the bike parking area this year if required to leave your helmets and gear.
Unless you are in the market for cheap shoddy gear I won't be bothering next year I can see as much at various dealers just have to travel on the bike no hardship

I haven't been to the show for a good few years now, but I'm amazed that according to what you say the major manufacturers/retailers of accessories and clothing aren't there any more, is this really the case nowadays ?

NEC has to have been the worst it has ever been since it moved there, it started off using 6 halls of the NEC, this year barely filled 3. Major manufacturers were their, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Ducati, KTM, lots of cheap gear stands selling gear most experienced riders wouldn't wear. Yes there was some good stuff to see and buy but I'd seen everything there was to see in under 3 hours. £20 ticket, £25 plus to get there makes it an expensive 3 hours out.... I won't be going for a while, I'd rather go to the London show, far better.
the last time i went to the NEC was 4 years ago,to be honest it wasn't that busy then,i wanted some decent gear,i was looking at helmet's & clothing there was nothing there apart from dealers showing off there latest offering's.it wasn't that good then, my mate asked me what i was doing last week end, he wanted to go to the show,I SIMPLY COULDN'T BE BOTHERED,i'd rather go to the BMF in PETERBOROUGH.another thing that put's me off is the time of year the show is held, one would like to think that they would hold this in the summer.
It's easier just to buy a magazine with show report and cheaper too! Haven't been for years.
I was planning to go on the Saturday, I even bought the rail tickets but then after seeing some video footage of the event and how mediocre it looked, I simply couldn't be bothered.
The BMF no longer run the show at Peter Bog Horror [ ]
They pulled out about three years ago when the showground put their prices up yet again.
MCN now put on a similar show, but BMF are running smaller local shows around the country.
IMO the Peterborough show was going down hill, I went regularly as part of a club stand,, but I would not have paid to enter for the last few years.

A couple of the quality gear stands like halvarssons had gear there to try on but not purchase.
Aria / shoie etc was there helmet city oxford. I asked a salesman on the helmet city stand about the new Schuberth c4 he gave me a load of waffle in his answer which I questioned he put the helmet back on the shelf and walked away pmsl.
As you said mr Wolf a waist of £25 I'm glad I was on the bike or you could add another £12 parking.
I bought a coffee while there nothing special a flat white £2.65 :censored: I nearly told them where to shove it a small bottle of coke in the shops normally £1to £1.20 they charged £2.20 :censored:
There was a stall doing pull pork cobs ( rolls or baps to you lot  ) I was very tempted but I hadn't took a credit card with me for the purchase :whistling:
Its funny how different people view these things, isn't it?
I went with my nipper and our mate, so 3 in a car. prebooked parking was £10 - split 3 ways. Not too bad
OAP ticket was £12, one std ticket ws £17 (I think) and 1 freebie (Thank you Kawasaki)
Had a really good day. Hospitality from Kawasaki meant that there was somewhere to sit down plus free teas and coffees and biscuits. The Club Kawasaki membership meant that we got 25% off the clothing
We had a good day out

Its good to hear another side to the story
Some pals from here in N.I visited a few days ago and enjoyed their day too, the only issue they experienced was a broken down rail link from the airport and resulting queues for coach transfers
Well. Since starting this post as I was so excited to see the SX I have to say what a disappointment!! It's ugly, the front is too sharp, the single headlight looks like a cyclops. The panniers are small and crazily... no top box!! A tourer with small capacity!! From memory it's also chain drive I think.
Backwards steps Mr Kawasaki.
The Tank is also a very odd shape and if you look at the press photos just take a closer look.. passenger is very small on purpose as it's cramped plus they are rediculously close together.
It's like little thought has gone into a serious Euro mile muncher for 2 with kit.
I'll be on a XZR14 as next bike then.
Thought the event was ok. Just that. Ok. I went with my brother who'd love to be in a bike so he was cooing at lots. 5hrs we had a wander.
Stunned at the lack of being able to pick up a deal. I managed to bag a Rad Cover for £50 but that was only after 10 mins haggling from £70!!
Also a Pin Lock for my RPHA-10 ST. Only 3 stands had one and one wanted £35!! Paid £20 in the end
I'm amazed at these guys spending thousands and thousands on a stand and they refuse to claw anything back by selling kit.
Sigh. Grab a bargain days over.
But I DO want the Triumph Bobber. Just to look at!!
The H2-SX is a lightweight touring (!) H2 not a souped up SX. I, for one won't be getting one, although I'd like to try it out. Spoke to the Kawasaki Business Manager who confirmed that a GTR replacement is due out this time next year. Supercharged. Guess I'll wait until then.
Seems that Kawasaki don't want to launch too many new bikes at once. We've got the Ninja 400 Z900 and RS and the H2-sx this year.
The ZZR is due for a refresh so expect that to come out with a new GTR for 2019

So many conflicting views. I too spoke to Kawasaki sales and finance manager and asked when is the new GTR due to be released, telling him that I am in the market for a new one, stating that if a new GTR is not available I will be buying a Honda next summer. He told me that there are no plans for a new GTR for the foreseeable future. As far as the show goes, 5 of us went in one car and had a great day out. Price was secondary but I have complained about entry and parking costs in the feedback email I received.
Here's a first review......mmmmmmmm

It looks nice but it's not exactly a fully fledged tourer like the GTR is it?
Interesting vid ,, but cannot see why he compares it to the gtr , you might as well put upright bars on a zx10 and call it a sports tourer ,,the pillion does not look comfortable,, touring is not about high speed , :biker3:
Dont like it, i feel Mr K has made an error on this one ( hope i am proved wrong for kwak sake ). The standard SX looks better and i bet rides better too, however i will have to have a test ride to compare ( my first face is by far better than my second :mfr_lol: ).
Got my test ride booked at Bmth Kawasaki. Hoping it will be for a long weekend They are getting an SE after Xmas. Good start to the New Tear
The video clip/film has been removed, maybe someone at KHI wasn't too pleased :nono:

Perhaps it broke down.
Nothing to do with any breakdown either mechanical or psychological :mfr_lol:
See below
Had the clip been about a BMW bike there would have been nowt to shout about in the first place :mfr_lol:

I was tempted to get a H2 SX next year but after thinking about it and going through the figures, i would be losing a shed load of money in depreciation in a year of around £3k and taking on £6k of debt.
I'll wait until used models come in the market.
