Title: Crash Bars
Post by: johnboss on October 06, 2017, 11:29:41 PM
I'm due to take delivery of my new bike in the next week or so and was wondering about crash bars / protectors.  Anybody fitted them to their bike?  Any advice /comments appreciated.

I have genuine Kawasaki crash bars on the front and R&G bobbins on front axle and rear swing arm.
Looks right in my opinion, and having dropped it once since fitting I know it saved me a fortune!
Mirror cover scuff and a small scratch on the exhaust end cap.
One of the best insurance policies I've ever bought!

I have these ones MC Enterprises  fitted front and back for the panniers the people across the pond call them canyon cages.
I have attached a link below I found them easy easy to fit .
Just bear in mind my local Kawasaki dealer at Cradley Heath said the fronts will need removing for big service work they said I can do it before or pay them extra labour of around 2 hours .

Also there is a member on here called Ant he makes and sells them check his out he had a video on utube testing them

Took delivery of my new bike and it came with a set of  R&G Adventure bars on I'd asked the dealer to sort for me. (Thanks to all for your advice) A bit pricey for some bent metal, brackets and bolts I thought but you never know.  Well.. Stopped at a junction, put my foot down only to find a dip in the road my short stumpy legs could not cope with!  My God this machine is heavy....and there was no way I could hold it up   Long story short, picked me up, then the bike (with a little help from a friend) and low and behold, a slight mark on the R&G bar and not a mark anywhere else on the bike....WINNER!  As someone said on this post . best insurance policy I've ever bought.
Right ...of to the gym to build some muscle!

Well worth the extra £'s then, I'm glad your actual bike wasn't damaged.

At least you found out how heavy it actually is!
