.......do you guys have for your next foreign trip abroad???.
When we had a ride out last Sunday, over a cuppa we talked about the trips that we had just been on. Rob & Pete both talked about possible trips for next year....what's on your mind now for 2018?? :biker3:
Charlie and I may cross the Alps to northern lakes in Italy.
Five of us from Northern Ireland are going to Northern France next September
Good question ice. Maybe a run down to my mate's house in the south of France, or maybe a few of my workmates and I may finally buy some chicken chasers and have a run to Wales or Scotland.

The Pont de Milau is awesome, we went over it on our way down to Narbonne about 3 years back.
Done some of the planning but still working on;-
(If/when contract is renewed for next year other wise it's Skeggy!)
Did a similar trip in 2012 going south to north in Norway then back thro Sweden but we did it in 2 weeks (on a Guzzi Stelvio) and to be honest I was knackered when I got back so we're spreading this out a bit, the only long ride is from Helsinki to Oulu but as we'll have been on the Baltic ferry for the whole of the previous day it should be ok.

"I'm not unplugging my jacket!"
Corsica next year.
Been on my "biking" bucket list for a while now, and recommended by numerous other bikers.
Ferry from France is cheap as chips (relative to what we get charged to get to France or Spain) and if you give it even just a quick glance on Google maps, it certainly looks like biker heaven.
Cheers
Paul B.
Just back from 2,579 mile round trip to Croatia. Maybe Italy next year and take in a WSB round, possibly Imola.
Hopefully western Scotland, Applecross, Torridon etc
August next year ferries and hotels all booked. Just a waiting game now
Day 1 Home to Hull Ferry
Day 2 Zeebrugge to Bastogne, Belgium.
Day 3 Bastogne area sightseeing and museums.
Day 4 Bastogne to Mosel Valley, Cochem, Germany
Day 5 Mosel Valley sightseeing and wine tasting hopefully.
Day 6 Cochem via the Eder Dam to Bad Grund in the Harz Mountains, I go every year, love the hotel and the area is fantastic for bikes.
Day 7 to Day 16 enjoying the Harz Mountains.
Day 17 Bad Grund to Ijmuiden for the ferry home.
I usually clock up 2500 to 3500 miles over the holiday. Depending where we venture out too. Have been known to cover 500 plus miles on odd days out.
Went to the Harz for the first time this year for the Suzuki SV meet, really lovely must get back and spend more time there. Preferably on a more comfy bike!
My old work team are back to The Picos next June but I have no bike at the moment AND I shall be in the U.S so that sort of counts me out ... but the year after I think they are looking to finish Spain and or start Italy. I have permission for an extended 3 weaker up to Nordkapp with a chap from work who is of RTW experience so to him it is no more than "a wee trip" ! keep you updated.
No big trips planned, but a long camping weekend in Somerset in May, A short tour of Normandy in June and a short tour of ireland in July, all with Club-Kawasaki members
Route 66, as much as is possible, Chicago to Santa Monica Pier on rented HD's! The rental company doesn't do GTR's!!

Why no bike Rusty ?
Nothing big on the bike planned now we can't go to the Isle of Man for the planned 11 days , trying to do a swap on my tickets for a long weekend instead. off to the lakes for few long weekends over March / April / May, Greece for 10 days in june ( mixed with a family wedding there ). Cornwall in August for 10 days, and trying to fit in a fair few BSB races along the way.
We are off to the BSB at brands in April and go from there straight to NW France along the coast for a week.
Last week in May we will be doing the NW500 in Scotland and hopefully South of France in September.
And at some time a friend has suggested we do Norway somewhere.
Off to do the NC500 in April, from my end in Warrington it's 1200 Miles all in
Then June it's ferry from Portsmouth to santander over the Pyrenees to end up near Perpignan then south of France round to Paul ricard to watch the F1
From there to Monte Carlo then up to turin in Italy, over the St. Bernard pass into chamonix, then head up back home cartching ferry from Zeebrugge
Just over 2000 Miles door to door
That sounds great!
Sunday saw about 75-150mm of snow (depending on where the wind had piled it) dumped on my street so I abandoned any ideas of a Sunday ride. I may have heated grips these days, but I am still not stupid (I think?).
The day was therefore spent in front of my computer and a route has been put together taking in the north and west coasts of Spain, through Portugal and a little way along the south coast of Spain before heading back northwards right through the middle to pick up the ferry home from Santander.
Fortunately the wife was distracted by whichever soap opera has the life support machine on it this week and was not watching what I was up to, so I sneaked downstairs to grab my wallet and booked the ferry crossings and four nights in an apartment in Cadiz in the middle of the programme and there is no going back now. I'll fill in the nights on the outward and return parts of the trip over the next few days and then spend a bit more time over the Christmas break picking out points that I want to stop at between hotels.
Looking forward to it already
NW200 in May, possibly preceded by Tandragee again, possibly IOM TT although that'll definitely be foot passenger as I want to get the key week somehow and I have left it late. Will take a couple of weeks in Europe during summer and decide last thing as to where based upon weather, mood and what happens to tickle my fancy.
Not done much BSB chasing around the country as I've worked overseas a lot the last three years. Am now back in Blighty so may make better use of the GTR's mile munching ability at weekends perhaps. I have to be mindful of her indoors needs though as I've been given wide scope to do as I wish the last few years and don't want to push my luck!
Roger ... no bike at the moment ... it went like this ... commuting 1300 miles a month ... Retire .... 1100 miles in a YEAR  and then a neighbour with a son in law busting to find a 12 plated GS in Triple Black ... what spare time I have is divided up between the dawg and my triathlon stuff so riding really has taken a back seat. My lovely dawg is getting old and I have to be realistic ... when she goes to dawg heaven then I shall get another bike but there is little point it sitting there in the garage ... especially as I said I would never ride in the cold again !!
Hope all is well with you.

I hope it will be, the missus hasn't long passed her test though, it's the alps that worries me with her.......

Yeah we are ok thanks.....its been a busy time over the last 7 months settling in to our new home.
I still have the Versys 1000 and am looking forward to better weather when I can get back out on it, a the moment the last of the heavy snow we have had is thawing.
I'm sure that you will have a bike again soon and hope that the dawg keeps well
I may tour the whole of the South Wales valleys, even get up as far as the Brecon Beacons!
Sadly, wrong choice of bike for me. It gets used on a Sunday (weather permitting) through the warmer months.
The intention was there . . .
