Howdo fellow "Connie Pilots"
Anyway just acquired a 2017 beastie after years of old Zzrs and even an oldie gtr1000.
Have decided that i want to minimise damage in the hopefully never to occur event of " Fergus" ( Wife named it as its Grey and all she could think of along the Tractor lines was Little grey Fergie....) ending up on the floor .
So purchased and fitted the r&g bars but notice on the right hand side the bars contact with the Fairing where it passes through the fins and is tight on the head where the Rubber flange sits .
Anyone else with these have this issue or do i have a defective bar ( twisted/ not to spec) ?
Cheers
I fitted them to my 2011 bike now owned by tartan-jock and they fitted spot on, didn't touch anything at all.
Hang on for a while and he will confirm this.
Alan
Fitted RG Bars to my gtr and they were perfect ,close but perfect
Cheers folks i may have to take a trip down to Alton and Visit R&G to see if they can shed some light as tried all i could with the alignment and adjustment slots but its minimal clearance that in any impact its going to be an issue and especially on the cylinder Head is my concern point .
Good site and knowledge base and who knows may bump into some of you at some point .
R & G products are generally very good quality...your crash bars definitely should not be contacting the bodywork of your bike, if you are able to visit R & G then that would be a good idea alternatively email them some pictures
Good luck, and let us know the outcome
Fitted them to my 2017, no contact with fairing, I think they're made to order, give them a shout.
I don't think they are made to order , An off the shelf item in my experience. When I fitted mine I did get a bit mixed up with what spacer goes where and they didn't seem to fit . After I actually read the instructions properly I soon worked it out. Maybe you have a part missing ?
yep dont touch anything.
Fitted on my 2010 model, nothing touching.
Few pics
Pics are too close or too out of focus to show us anything at all . You either have must mis shaped bars , you have fitted wrong or you bike / fairing has been bumped and you have a wonky bike
Could i ask if someone with these fitted on a later model bike post a few pics of the bars through the fairing on the right hand side for reference please .
R&g are looking into this to see if there is any issue in the manufacturing process .
Iv just fitted these to my 2016 GTR - no issues - Engine mount bars the right way – one is longer than the other – just a suggestion?

Bars are the right way .
Any chance of a few pictures for comparison ?
mIne are on a CCF 2013 Clearance is close, especially at the top, but there is definitely a clearance there! Don't worry about the white dust. Just not cleaned that closely from the weekend ride. Its not dust from a wearing faring panel!!
