Title: Blackbird to GTR
Post by: Geoff on August 24, 2017, 09:51:58 PM
Well I took the plunge and decided to buy a 2012 GTR in green with 17,000 miles on it, I have been riding the blackbird for a few years now and wanted something that wasn't a strain on my wrists, looking forward putting some miles on the GTR , would like a pannier set and top box also an after market exhaust, so if anyone knows of any please let me know.

Welcome. Did it not have panniers with it? They are standard fitment.

Another ex Bird rider :)

Pannier set ?

Do you mean internal soft bags?

Those and the top box are available from Kawasaki at comparable prices to the equivalent Givi kit which they're rebranded from (plus you can get the top box colour coded)

The bike came with no panniers or internal soft bags and this was reflected in the price.
I looked at the link and couldn't see any side panniers only the soft bags.

You need a second mortgage to get the panniers (around £540 each side if in stock) or you start hunting on the nay of fleas

Reason theyre not listed at my first link is they are OEM fitment rather than accesory (although oddly on the fiche they are called accesory, go figure lol

Geoff, keep an eye on the "market" section. I'll have an exhaust, top box, and other bits and pieces for sale over the weekend (assuming I find the time...)

Cheers

Nice to meet you Geoff, sorry it was a bit rushed, but a busy start to a shift here at http://www.servnorfolk.org.uk/
Cup of tea and a natter next time.
Oh, and glad I could be of help with the panniers.

Much appreciated Martin, the broken bit is being 3D printed and cut out, look forward to the cup of tea next time and glad the dog liked me, both ankles intact
