Title: Hi New GTR1400 owner
Post by: Robbieben on August 23, 2017, 10:31:04 PM
Hi, just ordered a GTR 1400 in Slate Blue, collect it 1st September. I've owned various bikes over the years ZZR 1400 being one of my favourites but I now prefer the more sat up riding position for touring.

Trading a BMW in for the GTR :innocent:

I currently own a S1000XR Sport SE, just come back from a fortnight in Europe and although the bike performed very well, luggage and seating space just is not great for two on a two week tour.

Welcome along, there's plenty help and more than a little p*ss taking on here as you no doubt realise.

Interesting what you say about the touring capabilities of the S1000XR Sport SE and its lack of comfort, I undestood that it was a very comfy bike solo or two up...I haven't tried it myself tho'

I am no Sherlock Holmes but just look at the evidence
1. Charlie
2. The Wolf
3. The Belfry.
And finally 4. The GTR meet.
I have come to the assumption it's an evil dastardly plan by  :lipsrsealed:

Hi,
Not sure where to post an introduction and this discussion is somewhat dormant, but here goes.

Been riding a Blackbird since 2007, still have it but just acquired a first gen 1400GTR.

Loving the torque and easy/lazy riding style of the GTR. Mate has a ZZR for sale, if anyone is interested

GTR is fitted with BT023's (I think) but not impressed but will carry this discussion in the tyres forum.

Live in Northamptonshire, anyone close?

Welcome to the forum. Sadly, there's not much activity on here these days, but if you have questions it is worth a post - someone may come along who can help.

Pirelli Angel GTs are worth considering when you come to change your tyres. The suit me, but I'm more of a long distance rider rather than someone who is throwing it into corners at high speed. They are a very personal choice, other people may beg to differ and who is to argue!

I'm based on the other side of the midlands, about 50 miles away but I sometimes take a run out to or through Northamptonshire, so if you fancy arranging a mug of tea somewhere, let me know.

Pete.
