Title: Time to go (bike, not the wife)
Post by: BigAlan on August 14, 2017, 09:43:53 PM
I have decided.

Purchased new by me Sep 1st 2011, serviced every 4K miles, new PR4GT tyres fitted, fender extender, Kawasaki sat nav bracket, radiator guard, skidmarx hugger, "blue" extended rear fender from Canada, R&G engine bars, panniers, top box and a lovely Top Sellerie seat, all these extras I am leaving on and will include a Beauwolf exhaust but not the carbon one fitted now, laminar lip and spare screen.

The bike is as you would expect, reliable and the best bike I have ever had by far.

MOT tomorrow so will start for a year from Sep 1st, 31k miles all done by my good self.

In Oxford.

£5950     PM me if interested, otherwise it's off to the dealer.

Al
Just to let you know that I got £5,900 for mine px.
It had 36 on the clock.
That was the glasses guide price.
It went in to them completely standard, which is how they wanted it from me.
They said that they would accept £6,500 for it although it'll be in the window for a bit more than that.
So if anyone is interested in buying yours they will have a great bike at trade price.
If not, you may consider pxing depending on what you have got planned.
Good luck
Barry

Hiya Al, like stickyone I would also be inclined to remove as many of the fitted accessories as you can as dealers don't really want that on P/X bikes and then you can make a few quid selling them separately.

What bike have you decided to go for ?  something completely different ?

Good luck with the sale mate

Funny how  the dealer says wants a standard bike , so take off all the bits that everybody on this forum then goes and puts on , I would sooner have a bike with all the mods done a lot cheaper that way ,,

If anybody I know wants the bike they can have the lot, if I end up at the dealers then I shall be removing all the stuff and will post it here.

What am I getting, well it's no secret that I like the Ducati Multistrada S with the touring pack on it, I did fancy the Pikes Peak version but could not justify the £3.5k just for the Ohlins suspension so I shall have the electronic "skyhook" instead.

It's taller than than the GTR, lighter so easier for this old guy to walk around with.

Let's hope you won't have to "walk" around with it too much Alan    :mfr_lol:

I'm sure you will like the new 'un, and enjoy lots of smiley miles with it too

What colour will you choose, Red or Grey ?

I had a look at the Ducati , but the service prices put me off £800-1200 for a major one , the gtr is so easy to do yourself, it will be a great bike to  :biker3:ride ,, I sometimes think about changing the gtr , but then take it for a blast and soon Change my mind ,,  , but good luck with the sale ,,

White is what I want, I have a mate who can dip parts to make them look like carbon fibre so might get a bit of it done like that.

Had one guy message me already, let's see how interested he is.

David

I don't have the original, I let it go a year or so ago as it was so heavy the rafters in my garage loft were straining to hold it up. There available on eBay at a reasonable cost if you prefer the "spud launcher" style.

Gentlemen (and lady Debs)

I have now sold my trusty steed to a new member on here with everything on it which saves me the hassle of removing it all and selling it elsewhere.

David aka tartan-jock who resides way up north has sent me a holding deposit and all being well will take delivery in just over a week.

This very morning I have removed my private plate online which was a doddle and will be visiting my local dealer who will no doubt have great fun relieving me of my money in exchange for a Ducati Multistrada S.

Rest assured people of this parish I am going nowhere, I will be here reading the posts, writing posts and taking the Mick when necessary, this forum has been an invaluable source of help and information and I will be testing the new owner on parts of the workshop manual which I have sent to him in PDF format to ensure he keeps the bike up to standard.

More when I know.

Don't you just love it when everyone's a winner.
Al's got his price knowing it's gone to a nice new caring home and David's picked up a great bike.

Brings a tear to my eye...

BigAlan would love to see some pictures of the water transfer thingy when you get it done, saw that a few months back, initial thought it was a spoof like upside down maps and tartan paint.

But I have been proven wrong on both counts of the latter.

No it's an original, of a 2015.

No thought about price, but with the weight of it I guess it would have to be collected

I send items using Hermes ,  you would be able to send exhaust for less than £10 , I send a seat for £6 , it's surprisingly cheap to Send largish heavy items , an exhaust is slim and not to long even if on the weighty side , get some online quotes ,,  :biker3:
