I remember it being a bit fiddly but at least once it's done, it's done and you'll find it easier next time.

Yeah, it needed a change, I'm sure bike manufacturer's are learning to make some thing's more difficult to ...Err... "encourage" owner's to use the dealership  :whistling:

Fitted Kawasaki OEM, had K&N filter's on other bikes, apart from re-usable I saw no difference.

That's one of the selling points, you only ever buy one. I know you get a little more power but I always wonder if they let more rubbish through to the injectors, valves and bores accelerating wear?

Is there a guide anywhere on the 'net on how to do the filter?

I've been putting it off but need to do it.

"Do they let more rubbish through",yeah they do ,read any of the independent tests of air filter performance which include K&N filters and you well see they certainly flow more air but with that comes less filtration/more crap.

There's vid's on youtube.....this one the guy takes the left side fairing off......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxDiqMcEaQU

Then this guy says that it's possible to change the filter without taking all of the side off.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlzb-P43pog

It's down to you to decide which one is best....

Did mine without removing the sides, just the top fairing where the box and bar heater control is.
