Title: Cruise control
Post by: Paul3068 on May 21, 2017, 07:45:32 PM
Hello all
Off to Spain in a few weeks and doing a fair bit of motorway mileage
Just wondered if anybody has the KAOKO cruise control or any other system fitted for that matter, and any recommendations
Regards Paul

I fitted a Kaoko cruise control  on my GTR. Easy fit and superb for use on highways. Remember that it don't adjust the speed as an electronic cruise control.

Yep I fitted the rostra one. I wouldn't say it's an easy install as you do have to manufacture a few brackets and the like as it's really designed for a car. Maybe it would be a bit of a rush for you to fit one like this before you go away.

I have the Kaoko fitted and its great, real easy to use and fits in minutes.
But as others have said it will not maintain the same speed as an electronic one but is more than sufficient and a slight twist will either increase speed for going up hill or decrease for going down hill.

Did it fit ok with the heated grips or did you have to make alterations

Perfect fit does not interfer with the heated grips,no alterations needed.

Had the Kaoko cruise controls fitting on my ZZR, Versys and now the GTR.

Pretty basic but looks good an easy fit, allows you to rest the throttle hand for a bit.

Yep fitted the Rostra Cruise to mine, cost me just under £150 at the time and works brill from 30mph upward, keeps speed constant up hill or down and disengages by use of either brake or clutch.
Link to fitting it - https://www.murphskits.com/catalog/docs/Rostra%20install.htm
Will also work on later models as mine is 2010 GTR.
