Title: Newbie
Post by: BruLan on May 17, 2017, 07:24:30 PM
Hello all,
I'm collecting a low mileage 2008 GTR1400 on Thursday, so hoping the Weather sorts itself out
Moving up from a VFR800VTEC, which great Bike as it was  Is not too good two up and the Wife is now back into Biking and we have a European Road Trip planned in July
The final straw was the trip to the MCN Show last weekend, which showed up each and every limitation of the VFR
So happy days !!

A friend of mine described the GTR as "Like a VFR800 on steroids" so you should like it.
Enjoy!!

Welcome Bru, I also changed from a VFR, and although there was nothing bad about it, it felt a little bland and I got tired of the high revs when munching the miles on the motorway. At first it feels like you are giving birth to the GTR after sitting on the narrower VFR, but you'll soon get used to it and love the effortless power. Enjoy!

I'm with all of the above our kid... we're only a few miles south of you in Warwick. We changed from a 1300 Pan to a kwacker back in March...much better and are off in 7 weeks to France.

First things first tho....we need photos of the bike in the "show us yours" and also photos of your tour when you get back.....and who knows there seems to be a number of us in the midlands maybe a meet & greet later on this year??? :punk:

I will put some pics on later,
I rode it 200 miles home yesterday leaving Morpeth in Glorious sunshine, then the Heavens opened on the M1 at Rotherham, for the rest of the Journey back to Burton
Just opened the Garage door and it needs a clean !

Welcome from Shropshire!
I miss my old VFR, but pillion doesn't, neither do my wrists! Used to kill lower arms even though super smooth!
You'll love the GTR!
Ride steady.

TBH, I never found the VFR Comfortable, I tried Bar Risers, 3 Screens and lowered the Pegs. And it was dreadful 2 up My Wife was not Comy and the Front was VERY vague when loaded.
WELL Happy
