Like OC I am finding the GTR just a touch heavy, it's the best bike I have ever had by far, and that's in 43 years of motorcycling.
So it's a Sep 2011 bike purchased new by me, full service history and more, I get the oil and stuff changed every 4000 miles, heaps of extras on it which cost me a fortune but makes the bike worth about £50 more than a similar one, new PR4 GT tires 400 miles ago and in the fastest colour the magnificent black.
I see some dealers want a fortune but that's to be expected, and some private ads but who knows if they sell them or not.
Hit me with what you think I could get realistically as I would rather someone have it rather than a dealer.
What is the mileage?
I forgot that bit, 29k all done by my fair hand, and never been over 8k on the rev counter.
£6000 if you can find a cash buyer , plus if it's never been over 8 revs then a full decoke and top end strip down to get rid of all the carbon build up , :mfr_lol:
Never need to go above 8k revs, how fast do you want to go?
:scooter:
Spent the last hour or so scanning "unsold" adverts as I can't find the ones which have sold and I reckon slightly more but then again I would wouldn't I, £6500 methinks.
Al, I think that you should get £6500 , good luck with the sale.
What do you plan to replace it with ?

I am sorely tempted by the Yamaha MT10SP
Due to have a test ride the week after next on the standard MT10 so will see.
Before you said mileage I reckoned about 6500. Put up for 6700 you can always go down a bit.

Graham has traded his Versys in for the standard MT10 and it goes like hell, he is impressed and I like the look of it so test ride for me.
Good luck Al. I recently took £7000 from a dealer for my 2012 in part ex. Would have probably made another grand privately but the deal was right for me.
I expect there will be a Beowulf can for sale soon then

Just been out to hear a Vulcan start it's engines and the sound of that is close to the sound of my GTR with that carbon can on 😀
I have the original Beowulf still so should I sell it then that's going back on and yes the carbon one will hit fleabay quick.
This one? Sounds pretty good to me.

Avro Vulcan XM655 is at Wellesbourne airfield, we live about a mile & half away and when she does her taxi runs we can hear her from home. I was lucky on my 60th birthday to be allowed up into the cockpit and sit in there...this was a surprise from the wife who then worked in the cafe at the airfield and she asked the guys if it would be possible?

That's where I go to get my Vulcan fix. Sit in the cafe with a full nglish after a quick ride up from Oxford.
Let us know when you're next here Al and we'll get the kettle on...and if your lucky there may be either peanut butter cookies or carrot & walnut cake, all home made...the wife says she may even cook you a bacon buttie..
We used to live in married quarters with a military airfield at the end of the street. I can't remember where it was, possibly Scampton and there were often Vulcans there. They used to scare the shit out of me with the noise they made. I was only 25 6 at the time.
