Title: Swingarm strut/support
Post by: Paul3068 on May 04, 2017, 05:28:56 PM
Hello lads
Just took my rear wheel off and the swingarm strut/brace on right hand side has freeplay in it, it's the part that has the black bung(bolt goes through) and also at the front near the top of the shock, is this normal?????
Never felt anything when wheel in situ and tightened up🤔
Regards Paul

Well, keep em as spares then because unless you've rode the heck out of it I wouldn't think you'd need em..

I'd be more worried if it doesn't...

Oh well, everyday is a school day, I did ring several Kawasaki dealers but the mechanics were busy...
So thought Bollox, just change them, on another point, my hugger had been touching my tyre that day, been over a very undulating road, throwing me out the seat several times, when I got home and saw the suspension loose, I thought maybe the wheel had moved slightly that's why my mind been playing games on me, probably all coincidence
Just That  the tyre was a very close fit and that it was 'squashing' when I went over the bad bumps, and catching the hugger........gonna adjust that slightly now too

it's not unusual for huggers to be close to the rear tyre, obviously it shouldnt come into contact.

Some gentle persuasion is often required to adjust accordingly    :mfr_lol:

Yep. My hugger did that. They run close anyway. Just bend it back on the brackerts when on the center stand and check for cheareance by spinning the rear wheel.
