I had the good fortune of being involved in the Tour de Yorkshire in Halifax on Sunday 30th April which I'm told is now going to be an annual event.
Unfortunately one of the motorcycle outriders who coincidentally was on a GTR & who was carrying a pillion dropped their bike on a particularly nasty, really steep, cobbled stretch of the course. Thankfully no injuries for either rider or pillion other than hurt pride on behalf of the rider. What was impressive though was how a support vehicle turned up within minutes and started stripping down and replacing parts on the bike as well as fabricating parts right on the roadside to do the repairs.
What was disappointing to see was how spectators within the crowd who had seconds earlier been cheering on the competitors were now laughing at the fallen rider for dropping the bike. I think that's a pretty shit way to behave.
Why do people behave like this?
A general decline in standards I'm afraid born out of a culture that is self centred and only interested in staring at a smart phone to get the latest celebrity drivel.Things started to go wrong in the Thatcher era with the birth of the me culture.
:agree: 100%.....hit the nail on the head there PRD
I blame Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy and Buster Keaton!!!
the people that behave like that are morons Steve
Pete, I'm eventually lost for words
