Post by: viper on April 22, 2017, 05:12:52 PM
Rode one today and I'm in !

for those of you that have had one any recommends on the usual mods

Good replacement  screen? ( I'm fussy , had 5 different ones on the gtr)

who makes the longest front fender extender ?

Engine bars , anyone had these fitted  ?

is the tank cover a bad fit like the GTR one?

Well well well Viper,  congratulations on your new bike..what colour?

As for necessary improvement you will need the following,

Radiator guard,  the Kawasaki one is good.

Front fender extender, I  chose R & G cos it looks good and works well

Screen, this is the subject of an abundance of discussion,  Givi AirFlow is brilliant but fugly, Puig is the main popular choice

I have Kawasaki crash bars which are very neat, but not yet (hopefully never) put to test, they are extremely neat and very robust.

I have an S W Motech day bag on a fuel filler mounting.

When is the new 'un due ?

Just remembered ...dont choose Kawsaki heated grips, far better are Oxford Touring

Givi Ariflow screen was best for me, adjustable and easy to use.
I had the Kawasaki crash bars on and appear to do the job, great mounting for Cameras etc too.
Never used a tank cover on the Versys, its a bit of an odd shaped tank
I had the 2013 model so fitted a gear indicator
Kawasaki branded (Givi V35) panniers
Tons of space for all manner of electrical stuff from the battery
Remus Exhaust - Hated the original one on the 2013
Rad cover, although prolly not needed if you go down the Fenda extenda route
I had barkbusters fitted with a Kaoko cruise control fitted inside the Barkbusters
Mirror extenders as the 2013 model ones was just to narrow

Hope that helps.

im getting the lime green / black one for this year . Its the grand tourer so has the heated grips , aux lights and all the panniers ect as standard . Not got a date yet as they need to get the touring kit ordered in as an extra from japan . we have an extended holiday coming up in a few weeks so I don't really need it until end of may anyway . On an even more exicting note Ive also got a CB1100ex coming in on back order which will arrive probably the same time ....Omg cant wait !!!

Liking all the comments on the mods , Kawasaki crash bars , do you mean the sliders or actual bars ? not seen any from kawaka , only Motech ones

After taking a hit from something that appears to be a cannonball !!  I decided to put these on my versys.  It hit just below the carbon protector on my right glove and I honestly thought somebody had shot me.
