Title: Consumption and Zorst's.
Post by: GTRpilot on April 13, 2017, 08:21:37 PM
Could the change of an end can from one make to another influence the range and consumption of fuel used?

OH YESSSSSS !   :mfr_lol:

The range will be adversely affected if the consumption is reduced   :whistling:

Errm if you reduce consumption surely you increase range , if you increase your consumption then your range is reduced

Reason I ask is that I recently changed from a Quill end can to a Akropovic, (Thanks o.c), with the Quill I was getting around 180 miles before flashing empty, with the Akro I've just ridden 215 miles making good progress, outward about 80 miles by motorway, the rest on a fast A road returning. 215 and still no sign of flashing empty.
Just wondered  :whistling:

Have to have another long run to confirm it's not a fluke, guess I must have another few miles even when it start's flashing, but I'm happy with that mileage on a single tank.

Been thinking about your posting

I had a Two Brothers pipe on my Green GTR,....at first it wasn't fitted with the noise restricter and it was LOUD...in fact just too loud, ...I seem to recall that the fuel efficiency was affected when I had this pipe fitted

With a BMW fuel economy not altered by different exhausts as most of the time engine not running.
