Having been Divorced by my last Pillion & she was great on the back of the Bike. Finding new one has not been so easy. Last Girl friend just did'nt want to go on back at all.
Any how. I got one now , shes Aerodynamic , bit sleeker & younger. Not a bad deal really. Not sure about the finance options at moment & running costs......shes an experienced pillion to. So ideal.

Well, here's my pillion of the last 8 years.
Has about 5,000 miles experience of sitting behind a Boomer.
Knows the hand/touch signals;
gentle rub = I'm Ok
pointing at a services sign = I need a piss/coffee/food/fag
slap on my thigh = behave yourself
smack on back of helmet = BAD BOY! ;D
Prefers the GTR1000 as is more comfy but likes the excitement of the 1400.
Last rode pillion 3 weeks ago when we went to the MotoGP @ Silverstone.

You two are both very lucky, as is anyone else who is going to add their babe to the forum ... Mrs Rusty just isn't into bikes at all, or those 4 wheeled things either .... just gets in it and off she goes .. could be a Fiesta ( we have ) or a Roller ( we don't have ) ;D it really wouldn't make any differnence what the colour was ! Pillion ? God No ! Some people say thats a good thing but I would like it to be the other way around .... to share trips and camping out etc would be great ... A lovely wife but no biker chic for me :(
As above, Mrs Wolf will not entertain my requests for her to get on the back of the bike so I dont push it. It would be nice but then God forbid if she ever came to harm on the bike I would never be able to forgive myself.
Its my 'TOY' as she puts it so thats where I am, no pillions I'm afraid for me. :'(
don't worry LW, mrs s won't entertain navigator slot either as she prefers to ride her own ;D here she is before leaving to do RLBR1000 ride from squires in leeds for the poppy appeal. 1200 miles (in bad weather that weekend) on her old fav zzr250/ my old lady no token rider
My ex wife wasnt a keen pillion so im delighted that my new partner loves the GTR. She even spots overtaking opportunities as she enjoys the accleration as much as I do.
She also appreciates the large mirrors!
P
Quotedelighted that my new partner loves the GTR.
Result there then Mate...well done...!

Nah, I hate the damned things. Had one many years ago and the damned pillion just would not SHUT UP!
On one particular ride I was tempted to see if I could get her to fall off the back. Then I remembered that I had a topbox. >:(
I may have to try again but am afraid that it would lead (as it did last time) to the end of the relationship.
Then again, should be better now as this one does not suffer from chronic verbal diarrhoea,...... most of the time. ::)
Everyone rides for many different reasons but one of mine is that nobody can talk to me while I'm riding.
It's that perfect moment when you finally get some peace and quiet, and even if you do get someone who really, REALLY wants to talk to you, you can usually outrun them. ;D
My tightness has nothing to do with the 3 years of my yoof spent in Somerset.
It's because I am ΒΌ Scots. ;D
My wife won't go anywhere near bikes...and like Boomer i enjoy the solitude of my own little bubble ...even when riding in a group. I do have a headset...but only so i can listen to tunes on long slogs!! ;D
We use an autocom and more often than not when I speak I get silence as she's too busy admiring the scenery!
What does bug me is when she says, out of the blue... "OH LOOK!" and it could be a bird of prey, or a nice view.
The best autocom utterance was "Oooooo, I thought we were going to fall off!" when, in the last 8 miles of a 250 mile day trip. I was really enjoying my self and the bike leaned well over through a left hander and it took Pam a bit by surprise.
Here is SWMBO who, as everyone who has looked at our web site will know, is a saint. Fortunately she loves bikes as much as I do and has been on the back for around 16000 miles so far this year.
We also use an Autocom and wouldn't be without it.

I have two pillions who both are part of the reason for the GTR, the War Office wanted GSA comfort , or better, but with more "whoosh" and the boy wanted "fast and comfy". WO is warming to biking since the GTR arrived, even been to Normandy on it, and the boy loves it!
This is Ruth (the Baronness) and she is fitted with and automatic speed limiting device. Oddly enough when she's on pillion my kidneys have been known to spontaneously start to bleed under hard acceleration..... ::)
Cartman ....Never heard a reference to "The WO" !! Like it ;D ;D ;D

Ah yes
One cannot proceed without permission of the War Office, my youthful collegues on my course describe her as Dragon Ops, but she isn't as keen on that one :P
DO sounds good to me. In my case it would be Dragon Overlord!
When driving around the UK I often point to a pub and say
"Look honey, there's our pub"
rapidly followed by a thump. ;-)
Sat up at stupid hour having hurt my self at work , just looking through some old posts. This one from last summer I had forgotten. Noy the pillion though...have kept this one. Off to Portugal on bike with her this spring.
Dont think she likes the look of the back of the Mt o3 though. Taking the GTR any how..
Hadn't seen this post... what a good idea
My original pillion was responsible for getting me back into bikes in the early 90s after a lengthy lay off..we went on to become husband and wife...she went on to morphing into a bike and ended up with another unlucky sod...I'm not bitter...in fact I'm pleasantly relieved...it cost me a bloody fortune though.
Moving on I now have a superb pillion, and she's called Gillian  (see what I did there)
Seen here at the Bridge January 2010 ..brrrrr... she's a star
Yeah - this is a good post, like it. When I got back into biking my (then) wife hated the bike, but she hated me more actually. I guess I should be grateful, cos while that Deuville was extremely dull.... I thank it as it brought matters to a head... no, conclusion I mean
Anyway, my partner has been on about three/four times for short bimbles (BUT shes not too keen when I filter) - she did 'threaten' to come touring this year, which was my excuse/reason for getting the gtr, you know pillion comfort and all that. I now read, that maybe its not as comfy for her as I thought - but I woulda got it anyway, one test ride and I was convinced. So, if she comes to euroland this year (or the gtr meet) great, if not - more room for my crap
ps sorry no photos (bike related), but shes Brenda
You either love them or hate them ..Pillions that is. My last wife was superb on the bike , had some fantastic tours together. One of the times we did get on...!
I had another Woman in Plymouth who was loads of fun , but not into Bikes. This one I got now is ideal. So I am lucky guy there.
I remember going up the road with my Auto com plugged in , with no one to talk to...how sad is that....but now , I have...
My Wingman ( Wife ) is an invaluable asset . Been my wingman for 30 years now and reads me like a book, she is an excellent car driver and when on the bike is an invaluable extra set of eyes, a few times she has seen something in the blind spot and alerted me to it. Always on duty when on the back , TBH I hardly ever ride without her, she naggs me to go out on a sunday.
Our first meeting when i was 17 was through the bike, she was already married and in a terrible situation, I told her to wait on the corner of her road, i got my superdream 250 and spare helmet out and did a " Ride by" and resued her chucking her on the back and riding off into the sunset, she never went back and later got divorsed, the love of the bike is the only thing we really have in common.
You only realise how good your wingman is when you take someone out who is crap, took her sister out on the back who is a lot lighter and it was like having a dead elephant on the back.
My wife is really responsible for me getting the GTR, i had ridden it and the FJR and liked both, thought the FJR had a better feel about it, i prefered the styling , the ride . Wingman hated the FJR purely from a visability point of view , couldnt really see over my shoulder like she could with the zed and gtr, so i went for the GTR and jolly glad I did now.

Angie is my pillion she is awesome loves the bike the best pillion i have ever rode with she does it all brilliantly, we have been together now for 4 years, in that time we have covered in excess of 50,000 miles on 3 GTR's, she has the best rib shot in the world if i get too giddy with the right hand, funnily enough if i go out on the bike alone it does'nt feel the same not just a weight thing either ( although she only weighs 8 stone wet through and 5' 1" tall ) and she rides herself too, a ducati monster 796 and she knows how to handle it too.
this is a good thread and well done for starting it,one of the few topics that me and my wingman have read together. Some really nice storys emerging and all because of the ladies in our lifes
hi this is my partner Claire ,46yrs we have been to together 7 years and have a few miles up are belts, Claire had a honda bros before we meet but had given up riding several years before and had not got back in to biking until i surprised her by passing my direct access then we when out and boughta susie SV650 for her and a Z750S for me, after a couple of years decided we wanted to do more touring together so she sold the SV and i bought the GTR
Her indoors hates bikes with a vengeance, especially when she had to look after me for five months after a big crash and subsequent repaired hip, shame really because the GTR is awesome and I am no longer a nutter, cool calm and relaxed me.
So if any of you have any daughters who would like to hop on the back point them my way
Alan

I don't have a pillion so....
If anyone has a spare....lol :punk:
Mrs 2kwacks has never been keen on bikes. she prefers the car so her hair dose not get messed up, she puts up with my bikes because I had bikes before I met her so allways had a least 2 bikes at any one time. when I did meet her in 1976 I had the "powerful" yamaha fsie and that was to fast for her  she likes her rides slow and not rushed, I like my rides to start fast and end quick so I can do it again
This is a good post, would it be better suited in General Discussion ???

Well she should know where last picture I posted is then. Bit further down , just over county border on the cracking A39 , not far from me.
would that be chew valley lake or blagden ?
Nope...that's the Sea in Background...Lynmouth North Devon.
Hi All
Couldn't resist adding my 6d to this. I am lucky to have an enthusiastic pillion. My wife Chris has looked at the back of my head for probably 50K miles plus. We do at least one 2 week bike trip every year. I wouldnt be without our Autocom apparently it gives her a sense of security being able to bollock me! ( I made one in 1984!I'm an electronic engineer by trade)
My fav saying by her , as we were filtering somewhere in Poland, was: No no I'm not going through there!........I think you probably are!!!
