Title: TPS display override
Post by: doebag on April 01, 2017, 04:00:23 PM
Sure I read on here that when the TPS is flashing [ my batteries need changing] you can override the flashing display on the cluster.
Am I imagining things ? Tried a forum search and no luck.
I don't mean the loom mod. Thought it could be done by pressing both black buttons together or similar.

I heard that but it's never worked for me!

Have I also read correctly, that if the sensors are removed completely, the flashing warning does not occur, you just get ' - -' on the display when selected.

Though I have to say, this is not mentioned in the handbook.

If I could find my owner's manual, I'd tell you...

While the annoying display is on. Hold down the top button between the clocks and then press the lower button. This removes the display which then shows all other functions as normal. While in this mode the red warning / idiot lamp stays on. It all starts afresh when ignition is switched off.
