This may be an old spud.......but what do you guys use to keep your baby safe???. I've got an Oxford chain, but I would like to see what other types you use??
Disc lock, front and rear, with fluorescent yellow reminder thingymajigs, in a garage with a motion sensor alarm.
Cheers
Paul B..
IF they are going to take it. It does not really matter what you do they will have it any way. But all these locks and alarms are good for the security industry and if you don't use them the insurance cos will penalise you
blimey Pete, I thought you were going to say "buy a BMW, and no one will want to nick it " :mfr_lol:
I wonder how high on the list of bikes to steal it is , as with out the fob it will not go ,so they can not ride it away , spares only , that's why they break into the house to Get the keys same as stealing cars , :biker3:

I agree 100%...it's the same all over...by having a wheel lock I save 15% on our caravan insurance....this is the first bike I've had without a key so that feels somewhat safer.
Chains and any other locks, they are just for show against the opportunist bastards.. :censored:
Or as OC says get a BMW you can leave that any where. Nobody wants it!
My previous ZZR had to be in a brick building to get insurance.
My GTR doesn't fit, though able to get insurance while parked up in front garden. I presume it's not as desirable to tea leafs
I have an Abus granite lock n chain, Oxford lock n chain, Oxford 365 u lock and an Oxford disc lock with built in alarm. Also 2 ground anchors.
Takes bloody ages to remove cover, remove locks and get bike out onto the road.
I'm still trying to adjust to not having a key. I use the kill switch to switch engine off then forget to turn off at the ignition. I think I prefer having a key :undecided:
I would preter a key as well. Fob bit of a nuisance really bit like tps and Michelin tyres.
They can't start it without the fob. However several burly guys could throw it in the back of truck and make off with it. So all the disc locks in China wouldn't help except make you feel better. A proper alarm system (Scorpion I think?) will alert you if it's moved or get the motorcycle version of lo-jack. I don't worry about mine anymore. It's a 10 year old bike. It's old like me.
I'm also thinking about putting BMW stickers on it..... :mfr_lol:
My reputation local keeps the thieving buggas away...
Rest of the time I only use the steering lock coz if the want it they will have it ... but a sticker saying the keys are under the wife is enuff to scare anyone :mfr_lol:
I use an abus granite lock and chain.
And I also have a roadlok disc lock fitted a bit pricey but it's fitted and if the bolts are cut it's still on the disc
Here is a link. http://roadlok.com/
At home a steel window less shed. bump stop with a chain through
On the road, disc lock. Ground anchor and chain in the garage.....oh and two big furry bear's
Park it next to a Ducati :mfr_lol:
Chain on rear, chain and ground anchor on front. Car parked in front of it and cctv cameras.

bit paranoid isn't it. It's a bike not the Crown Jewels!
Dont use any other security just the Kawasaki standard KIPASS, if they want it they will take it whatever security you have.
GTR - Ducati - both still with me and parked next to each other all the time when in the Garage
